The logo needs some work. They just about need a complete rebrand. Unfortunately the Suns moniker will prevent them from being able to start fresh with a colour change or something more drastic. The main problem with the GC one is that hideous logo, but it's also a bit weird that the "team with the red, gold and blue" doesn't have any blue on their jumper.
As a Suns member I believe we have a well known identity. If you dont know what the colours mean they mean the following- Red (The Sun), Gold (The Sand) and Blue (The Surf). Personally i did like our away guernsey with 2XU but i am starting to like our current home which is simple. The suns jumper is really good as it has a rich design with the bold colours. When I went up to the Gold Coast last year to watch our match v North Melbourne there was a lot of advertisment promoting the suns. At Surfers Paradise beach there was a few people going for a run wearing suns gear. Also at the hotel i was staying at the reception had a suns scarf on hanging from the desk. The support for the suns on the coast is growing rapidly.I was going to post this in the GWS multicultural thread but its more relevant here, but I think the Giants' home jumper is underrated. It needs some tidying up, especially given that BLK just copied ISC's design without considering differences in their side panels etc.
The G is becoming really recognisable. They play in one off jumpers more than their home just about, and each one has a big arse, unhampered G front and (slightly off) centre. There's still something a little off about the orange back and mostly charcoal front, but I think could be as simple as fixing up the sides, where BLK didn't really give a stuff.
GC's entire image is pathetic. You'd think that in this day and age, with graphic designers and marketing types everywhere, you'd get at least a solid set of colours, jumpers, nickname and logo starting completely from scratch. Where GWS were brave with charcoal and orange, GC went with probably the safest set possible.
Their guernsey still isn't match day standard, it's something you might wear as a clash jumper in the pre-season. Their logo looks like an internet button from 2002. There are no redeeming features, and they've done nothing to try to rectify it.
I guess it's sort of symbolic of how each club has gone in their very early years; Gold Coast have failed as start up team, and GWS have been text book. I hope that we see a rebrand when Eade gets axed in the next 18 months, a complete refresh of the failed start up team so to speak.
It's probably difficult with the 'Suns' nickname, but I'd ditch the red and keep gold, blue and white. When I was about 10, my family and I went on a holiday to Queensland and were by the beach around grand final time (the Whitsundays rather than Surfers, but anway), and I came up with this new team that was going to be based at a beach in Queensland, nicknamed the Sharks, with gold for the sand, blue for the sea, and white for the seafoam connecting the two as its colours. Those three colours go together incredibly well. West Coast, against all logic, have more or less ditched them, or at least put them to the side, and there's a hell of a lot you could do with them that wouldn't look at all like West Coast.
Gold Coast need to milk their beach front imagery. Their Macca's red is not a beachy colour, its like they took the Suns nickname too literally and made them some sun worshipping cult instead of the sunshine on the beach imagery that they should have gone after. The only way that the red could have looked appropriate is if they had a white jumper with bits of red on it, but Sydney have historic dibs on pretty much any sensible design you could use there. I'll mock up some designs later on, but I still think they should be looking to Southport for inspiration.
TL;DR GWS good, GC bad. GC should refresh their whole image and ditch the red.

The old Away jumper was great and should be your home jumper.Personally i did like our away guernsey with 2XU but i am starting to like our current home which is simple. The suns jumper is really good as it has a rich design with the bold colours.
No one was questioning the support, but if the club want it to grow they should have attractive logos and designs. I know I'm a BLK apologist but I'm not sure that's quite true that BLK just copied the design.I was going to post this in the GWS multicultural thread but its more relevant here, but I think the Giants' home jumper is underrated. The definitely cleaned it, but it seems ISC just had weird side pans, some even reaching past the cuff, and BLK have tried to copy that*, shown with the charcoal against the left side of the G and between the back and orange yoke. To really clean it up, they should ditch that and look at maybe making the back charcoal or flipping the orange and charcoal on the front.I know I'm a BLK apologist but I'm not sure that's quite true that BLK just copied the design.
Take this image of GWS in 2013 with ISC:
You can see that it's not a side panel design, it never had side panels.
It was a design aspect that is actually horrible, if anything BLK cleaned it up:
My mistake, I thought the charcoal mismatch was because of a side panel. There shouldn't be any charcoal to the left of the G, and there shouldn't be any charcoal on the rear piece of material (unless they choose to go for a charcoal back which I'm not against.I know I'm a BLK apologist but I'm not sure that's quite true that BLK just copied the design.

Nah they don't, I don't have any P.I's but I have never come across them. The definitely cleaned it, but it seems ISC just had weird side pans, some even reaching past the cuff, and BLK have tried to copy that*, shown with the charcoal against the left side of the G and between the back and orange yoke. In short, they've done a quick fix, but haven't found a solution.
*Do BLK have side panels? Griffen and Cameron's jumpers makes me think they do, but the others aren't convincing. Someone with a PI please tell.
That's a good point too, in regards to the back.My mistake, I thought the charcoal mismatch was because of a side panel. There shouldn't be any charcoal to the left of the G, and there shouldn't be any charcoal on the rear piece of material (unless they choose to go for a charcoal back which I'm not against.
I'd almost say that this is trying to be a little like the Swans, where the old ISC side panels were white, making the red back a rectangle that didn't wrap around to the front at all (remember that on the last ISC template there were three levels of side pan for different teams). That doesn't work with GWS, though, because of the curves of the G.
Get rid of the sidepanels and I think itd be perfect.Charcoal back looks way stronger, anyway.
