Sadly it is just an idea. I thought playing on the MCC connection while showcasing the monogram in a more tasteful way and also having a yoke-like feature making it clear it is the Demons would be perfect for Melbourne. Australian Rules was created to simply keep cricketers fit, so I feel the appropriation of the fashion is acceptable in this unique case. Tossed up between whites or creams, had to go with the creams.

Off whites, beiges, creams, and khakis should be used way more for clash jumpers.

For clubs like Freo, Port, Swans, they can use white because it's part of their colours and generally a complete inverse.

That Demons idea there is awesome. Could look a little over the top but if they just made it the monogram and top part, you'd end up with enough of a cricket looking jumper as well as utilising their actual logo and the vague shape of the home jumper yoke.

I've long said Carlton's clash should be chamois as they wore it on the home strip for a while early on. Always trotted it out in some Heritage Round matches. Way more interesting than an inverse and looks less soft than all white too. Of course you can play with the old fashioned yoke element as well which dresses it up.

My sources tell me that the 2018 clash guernsey's for Melbourne will be a throw back to the 70's Royal Blue. They will also have the 'red back' as an alternate, and will be having new designs for BCNA, ANZAC & Indigenous Round. NO WHITE !

In addition to this, the AFLW team will have a clash and indigenous.

Just playing around with an old template.

I think the red jumper really lends itself to having white detail (i.e. cuffs, collars, numbers, logos). Obviously not a realistic choice for clash given the AFL's weird pro-white stance but I wish a red edition were brought back for pre-season at least.

I kind of stuffed up there. It was supposed to be 5 stripes (to match the jumper) but I mixed up the colours so now it looks like 3.
