I know that Melbourne are exploring new material for their 2022 guernseys. A lycra/poly mix

new NB template then?
definitely due for a new one, current one been used since 2015 (or 2014 if you disregard slightly different collar).

You wouldn't be able to tell unless you feel it, it doesn't look anything like lycra. Most likely a 10/90 mix. Very stretchy, so players would likely wear a size smaller so it can't be grabbed

Pretty sure a fair number of suppliers already use lycra as part of the makeup of their guernsey fabrics and have done for some time - nothing too new.

I'm pretty sure it's elastane they use, not lycra. Regardless it feels quite different to anything I have in my collection

Virgil Abloh posted a Louis Vuitton polo as a theoretical basis for a Liverpool kit, which I thought would work as an unconventional clash kit for Melbourne. Obviously this logo placement would never fly in reality but it might make an interesting fashion or training jumper.

Not a jumper but my gf bought a wheat coloured NE Lions hat at a game the other week, was impressed at how good the blackout logo looks on merch, especially on the wheat colour

Having owned the new Lions training jersey for a week or two, here are the designs elements i would change;
- Add a red yoke to the Fitzroy side, in line with the maroon yoke on the bears side
- Change stitching to gold instead of the red. The red doesn't really add anything at all to the fitzroy side, but it looks a bit awkward on the bears side with the maroon. Adding a red yoke with gold stitching would suit the fitzroy colouring and mean the bears one doesn't have an awkward "off-colour"

here is a quick recolour mockup of just the yoke using the current template

It's based on a training jersey from the 90s apparently (doesn't mention the pre-season kit), but although the chevrons were unique, they were also god-awful.

Edit: as this is a reversible it would could also impact the other side design (depending on the material used)

It's a clash jumper. It looks better with black as the main colour, but it's not different enough from their home kit.
