Wow!

It's fine. As a design, it works. Given the argument over teal and prison bars, I'm not a fan.
I’m trying to find a way of moving beyond it. There’s no reason to carry the girls onto this.

The next battleground would be the VFL. I think the league will expand to include SA and WA. The AFL Reserve will happen. Then, what’s going to happen to the Port Adelaide Magpies?

Do you reckon Eddie would complain if we wore the Prison Bars in AFLW or an upcoming AFL reserves comp?
Yes because Collingwood are using them :p

I've taken a leaf from Melbourne's book. Surely this colourway would be more effective than either the yellow or red editions?

I've always thought if the AFL adopted EPL-style second/third kits then Geelong's jumper would make sense as an alternative for Adelaide (you could say something similar for Hawthorn/Collingwood/North Melbourne).

Absolutely. The league is just the AFL but for females. Same clubs, brands, etc.

If it was set up from scratch with completely new franchises, then maybe. But then if that happened Port probably wouldn’t be in it anyway.

Note though that I’m pro-bars at both AFL and AFLW level. But you’d definitely face the same hurdles getting them in AFLW as AFL.

🙄

Yeah. That’s precisely the reason...

Fremantle have no link to pink but their womens team have a pink chevron on the jumper. The only reason is because pink is a ‘girls colour’. I’ve seen many concepts for AFLW designs put forward which add pink to an AFL team’s current colour scheme solely for that reason. My post wasn’t a dig at your ideas personally. I get that Port have a historical connection to that colour and you’ve tried to come at it from that angle; but then again I haven’t seen you suggest adding pink to the mens jumper, so forgive me if it seems a bit convenient.

The AFL will kill our jumper off forever if we are forced to move to the AFL reserves comp. Not only could we not afford to run an SANFL side on top of an AFL reserves side, but the SANFL and their clubs would not be willing to give back our zones. It would be an uncompetitive third tier side, similar to the defunct Academy side (aka SANFL reserves comp side) from a few years ago that got beat by 120-150 points every week (which ended up being scrapped to save money).

Why Lance Franklin?
I was going to make a rival portfolio to El_Scorcho 's Adelaide Suburban Football League - the Adelaide Suburban Superleague. My first task was to make a Greenwith equivalent. I reached about this point before I decided I didn't want to do the whole thing. But I am continuing to use Buddy for now.

Did you get up to Kensington? Very curious to know and/or see.

In what grounds? It would be ridiculously farcical. The VFL has two Lions and two Tigers already. There are three black-and-yellow clubs. There are two brown-and-gold sides. What would be the excuse to forbid a second black-and-white Magpies?

I'm assuming an AFL reserves comp would just have AFL reserves, not east coast state league clubs.

It’s not the subject. Instead of assuming, you could simply have asked.

Two lions are very diffierent designs/ colours though, are there two tigers? The brown and gold sides are different designs (tbh i wish aspley would update their kits) but i get your point with that one.

As a Carlton supporter I don't mind the royal blue on our home jumper, but I think it needs to be a little more subtle.

In regards to the clash guernsey, I think it's pretty bad. I want to see more light blue but not sure exactly how. This photo bellow was one I found on BF from last year. I don't like it, but it's something to work around...

Yeah there's not a lot of room to move when you base your identity on a colour without a design and modern times require an alternative with no logical solution available
