My guess is that Sumich doesn’t deliberately leak, he just talks about everything. Not smart enough to realise that words eventually get back to reporters, even if you don’t tell them directly.

He’s probably furious at the Tom Browne article and 80% of info came from his mouth via a 3rd party.

He’s not playing 4D chess.

It is best mostly ignored. I say mostly because to some extent you can't ignore it altogether. The crud that comes out of that place is this political snowball that can easily gather weight bit by bit, not due to any real substance but just due to the crazy-arsed stupid relentlessness of it.

Whether he's a willing or passive player in the political shenanigans, it's what seems to inevitably come with Sumich. Leaks, rumours and innuendo are Politics 101. They've been a huge part of the Sumich-Freo story for a long time now.

If he bloody played his cards right we probably would’ve given him an assistant role/Development coach.

Not really no. I find it hard to believe that he’s the best that we can attract to the role but I do realise that I don’t know anything about his credentials other than what’s public knowledge.

I just think that we need someone successful. Someone that’s experienced a premiership at least once at some level.

His credentials do seem very good. Extremely highly rated by his coaching peers in Vic including Buckley.
Success is measured in a lot of ways, he’s had successful campaigns at a few clubs. I don’t think a premiership coach at a pro level is the be all end all.

I think a lot of people got caught up in JLo early because his main competition is/was Sumich. Think most were agreeing that no one wanted him.

I’m happy for anyone but Sumich. Not really sure on Carr and Solomon, haven’t heard much of them as coaches, but I guess we don’t know until it happens. Hopefully the best candidate not named Peter Sumich wins.
