But um yeah um but um but yeah um.
hahaha yeah I know right, I'm convinced JL has no idea. I'm sure he's a great assistant coach but head coach? yeah nah.

Watch as he starts talking about contest or some shit in the press conference

Aside from playing actual proper football in the second half, the effort at the contest™ helped allay a few fears that they weren't playing for him.

We have a half decent list and it isn’t much different from last year. This is a coaching thing and game plan. Our slow ball movement outside defensive 50 will make us spooners and needs fixing. We can’t have players continually using slow ball movement then bombing out of defensive 50 easy fix. Use more handballs lower the eyes and look for shorter options inside the forward half

Goneski. Or big changes need to be made around him.

Apart from the clear weaknesses in structure, and ignoring of weaknesses in player personnel and areas of our game, it was just ****ing dumb naming a tall forward as sub and not to use Jackson in the ruck more. I swear we had English on the ropes at one point but we continued for way too long with Darcy and English gained strength again as Darcy blew up and stopped to a walk (almost literally). To not notice that and take advantage was stupid. And, Erasmus would've been very handy as sub running with fresh legs through the middle in the second half and going shorter up forward would've thrown the Bulldogs out, at least for a while and let's face it, the forwardline wasn't functioning as it was. But we take Amiss out and replace him like for like - the Bulldogs didn't have to adjust a thing. Nothing! Not one brain cell was used worrying about what we might do!

Midfield setup around stoppages is ridiculous. How does their winger get fed out a handball with zero pressure on him to snap an easy goal. How does caleb daniel just waltz up to the stoppage just back of the wing from half forward time and time again and orchestrate transition. Blind freddy could see what was happening but nothing was being done about it. At stoppage all the players get sucked into the contest giving of all farkin teams the bulldogs an easy chain out.

How is luke ryan still taking kick ins. He should be forced to play with a shock collar and if he goes to pick up a ball after a point he gets shocked.

But Longmuir is dead as a dodo

The only thing keeping him in the role is the lack of an experienced alternative. Anyhow Hinkley or Dew get sacked before our bye, Longmuir must be replaced. If he makes it to the end of the season, Josh Carr would have to be an option.

Fckn Hopeless. No structure. No belief. No effort. The players look totally unintrested. The rot is deep in this one. Fck him off.

I don't think they're uninterested as much as they are utterly confused. Stoppage positioning is haphazard, ball movement is stilted.

Can only speculate, but maybe the gameplan went 'up' a level during the preseason. We looked great playing against ourselves but fold under the slightest amount of pressure and don't have the experience to adhere to it...unless the opposition starts falling to pieces either physically (West Coast) or mentally (GC).

Can't deny that's is a ****ing young side at the moment but unfortunately for JL I don't think he's going to get the luxury of seeing out the next 50 games while they develop.

I am 100% certain he has no idea. I was calling plays from my seat before they happened because it was so obvious what was going to transpire. If some bum like myself can see it, how on earth can't the coach? For example, Treloar waiting on the outer while our players were sucked in.

Aish and Hughes were an abomination. I sit dead centre on the wing about 20 rows up and watched them very closely and they are poorly coached. Baker and Williams gave them a masterclass. I called Williams goals before they happened. The Dogs would hold their ground, and our wings would suck up into no-man's land between their opponent and the congestion. Hughes was clearly doing it under instruction as he kept looking back. He wasn't losing his man, he was actively allowing Baker to sit off the play waiting for the ball to spill out. Clearly told to be another body in a stoppage.

The kick ins. Good grief. Long bomb, Bulldogs punch forward to white jumpers. No leading, no movement, no idea. On the flipside, can't stop a Bulldogs kick in from waltzing up the field.

Utter refusal to play all of Sturt, Jackson, Amiss together. One was always on the bench and always four smalls (Banfield plays like a small, don't care about his height).

Our forwards actively all sprint into the forward line into the same spot to create congestion. It's mind boggling to watch. There was another moment when we caused a turnover and looking upfield Amiss has gone bang, 5 metres in front and the players ignore him and push it wide for a rushed snap from the boundary. Blame the players? Well I blame the coach as well. Then he subs Amiss out (don't know if he was injured, I hope not).

Our team is very young and I don't expect them to be very good. But the way it is unfolding is alarming. Coach has to go as we need someone to teach the young players properly.

Our midfield and defensive line coaches are responsible for those. But it's the job of the head coach to help them with it so the buck stops with JL.

Great analysis. Our stoppage set up is so poor it's almost like we're not coached at all.
