lol
meanwhile he sulks over Hately & pick 40 and walks him to the draft
40 may have been handy if they wanted to trade up in the first rd with us (i.e. Eyre bid)

Made it quite awkward if he wants 6, 7, or 8 on draft night.

Not really.

McCartney shouldn't have gone public with it but I would have thought they're all professional enough to engage in trade discussions before and on draft night regardless of what transpired.

The Carlton/GC relationship probably wasn't great when the Martin trade fell through last year, yet just a few weeks later they traded with each other on draft night.

Another great trade for Essendon.

Your last couple of trades with GWS have not worked out well TBH (Devon Smith, Issac Smith etc)

awkward only b/c he made it public.

That said, i doubt we'd be trading with them on the night
We don't need more picks this year. We may slide one back as part of a Future swap. but that's about it

So essentially they GWS got a first round pick in the end for Caldwell. Dodo overpaid.
not really

if GWS had a bid to match, then you could look at it that
as it stands they got 2x 2nd rounders for Caldwell and a 3rd.
May sum up to a 1st rounder, but unless they trade those two 2nd rounders up, they don't become a 1st .

Wut

Dev won a BnF
Shiel is in our top 3 players.

As long as we don't end up rookie listing Caldwell in 2 years :p

Do you think before you start writing and then read what you have written before you post it?

Must say Isaac Smith hasn't had much game time for Essendon. It's disappointing.

“It was clearly sour grapes & actually made him look silly because the trade he (GWS - McCartney) said was insulting & a lack of respect is exactly the trade we ended up doing. “If he’d hoped to get a little bit more on top of it, well that’s his problem not ours” EFC Pres Brasher

This president is such a wannabe footy department actor. Be quiet and govern the club maybe?

Most of us are actually decently happy that he's speaking up.

Your mob have your coach come out and have opinions on things every week all year, same goes for Clarko, Longmuir and a few others. Other clubs have their CEO, Directors or President come out and do the same (Ricciuto, McGuire, Kennett, Gordon).

It's about time Essendon stopped playing the straight bat on every issue and pretending everything is fine.

Sure and most of those club supporters tend to want their presidents to not have an opinion on everything. Don't see why the president of what is meant to be a big and influential club needs to be trying to score silly points against the list manager from another club - but that is something for the Essendon members to worry about.

I suppose that depends on whether your nominated spokesperson has a habit of putting his feet in his mouth every time he opens it – but you're right, it's an issue for Essendon members to worry about.
