He might still have been contracted and on the payroll, but for all intents and purposes his involvement with the club and with the AFL had ended when the offences allegedly started.

I doubt many of the boys would have been in the country going off that timeline. I'm not too worried about other Suns being implicated.

Good point. Our last game was against the Eagles on Sunday the 30th/31st wasn't it? I remember a lot of our guys going overseas just days later.

I guess you really have to look at when it was officially announced he would be joining the Reds. Although he was under contract until October, players usually go on holidays between the September-October period so there is a very good chance he had nothing to do with the Suns from 31 August onward.

that is brilliant

Anyone worried Bennell might be implicated?
Somewhat, because given his past behaviour it wouldn't be a surprise. I'm hoping that he wouldn't be stupid enough, but I guess the private lives of players are completely unknown by the public until they do something stupid.

The dates of Hunt's alleged involvement are from September 1st to September 4th (from what the media is reporting), of which, Sept 1st is the day after the H&A season finished (and is evidently the first day of Hunt no longer being involved with the Suns - thankfully).

What I find strange, though, is that Monday 1st of September (the date of Hunt's alleged offence) was the date of the Suns' Mad Monday party. The Titans held their Mad Monday party the following Monday - the 8th.

The media are reporting that the GC Titans players were caught 'supplying' during the Mad Monday party, which was more than a week after Hunt's tenure at the GC Suns finished, and yet his reported offenses were from the week earlier - the same day as the Suns' party.

I'm really hoping that it's a coincidence that Hunt got caught up with the same drug ring as the Titans player - either that, or the dates that the media are reporting are wrong. Because as it stands, the two incidents seem to be separate - i.e. Hunt purchased coke at different times from the Titans players, and it's a coincidence that he bought coke from the same dealer as the Titans players.

I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes sense, because I'm sleep deprived - good luck working out what ever the **** I just wrote.

I understood you. After a bit of research I think it's important to put together a little bit of a chronology based on what we know/have heard to date. Here it goes:

Thursday, 28 August - Karmichael Hunt and the Suns hold a press conference in which they inform the media he is quitting Aussie rules but did not say who he would be joining for 2015.

Friday, 29 August - Queensland Reds announce at their Gala Ball that Karmichael Hunt will be joining them.

Sunday, 31 August - Gold Coast Suns play their last game of the season against West Coast at Metricon Stadium. Hunt is present:

8am, Monday, 1 September - Karmichael Hunt talks with Triple M Brisbane about leaving the Suns and joining the Reds. He confirms in this interview he WILL be attending Mad Monday with the Suns that day/night. Unbelievably, Karmichael also discusses learning from the mistakes he made in his younger years and that he now wants to set an example of how a professional athlete should act. Link to the interview.

Monday, 1 September - Gold Coast Suns hold their Mad Monday celebrations.

Monday, 1 September - Karmichael allegedly supplies cocaine for the first time at some point during the day/night.

Monday, 8 September - Gold Coast Titans hold their Mad Monday celebrations. Allegedly this is where the two Titans players began supplying cocaine.

Friday, 3 October - Allegedly the last day in question for Hunt's involvement with supplying cocaine.

So we know Karmichael was at the Suns' Mad Monday celebrations on 1 September and that also happens to be the same day he allegedly began supplying cocaine for the first time...

No doubt he's pulled some of our boys into it!
We don't need this kind of stuff circling our club on the eve of what promises to be a.big season for us!

Interesting time line showing the mad Monday parties.

I also recall the article / charges mentioning June 2014 to December 2014.

I feel for the Suns and their supporters. When the Eagles went through the Cousins scandal it was pretty tough to listen to all the trolls trying to take their 'pound of flesh'. That was due to jealous rivalries coming out of the recent success of the Eagles at the time.

I just hope the Suns look at what the Eagles did and learn from what worked and what didn't work. Luckily Hunt is already gone so that part of the equation has already happened.

Gold Coast and every club need to be super focused and strong with it's playing group on this matter. Set the standard and be super tough so they can then take the next step up the ladder and enjoy success. It's tough though, how do you question your players professionalism or prove anything? At the Eagles Cousins and others lied to the coaches and club officials even after tip offs from the public / social sector.

And lets not forget this issue will be happening at other clubs as well. Maybe not every club at the same point in time but it's happening. Over time it would happen at every club, I have no doubts.

Those were the initial dates reported, but subsequent articles have changed the dates - in all probability, the 'current' known dates are inaccurate too. Although, once all three names were announced, the dates seemed to be universal between all media.

Karmicheal should have his bank accounts locked...and if proven guilty...have to repay his employers.

Yeah...thats how it is now in professional sport.
Its how it should be. If you get caught abusing the priviledge of being able to perform as a professional athlete...then you get assholed.

im hearing bird and taylor are the king pins in this. by by tittans.

im tipping they will fold the tittans , move to Ipswich and get sponsored by the pommy multi millionaire.

If it turns out that K supplied Suns players and they are charged, I don't think I could support the club any longer. I know that it would be punishing the club for the acts of individuals but there should be enough culture around the club to see if players are going off the rails and pull them back into line.

I honestly feel I will be heartbroken, much as I was when Carey turned out to be a wife rooting, coke whore .

If K simply supplied some Coke to some Suns players then I can't see how they'll get caught up in this. The Corruption Commission apparently only seem interested in the supply chain, not the end users.
