Very interesting....he would make a good hbf or wingman i rekon
i totally agree, every sport has its positives and negatives, its different physical tests. This is correct, for sure. But people do like to chest-beat, or completely trash the other code about everything, like there's absolutely nothing a code can do better or be superior in than another code. Why it's good whenever you read objective fair dinkum posters thoughts.
Not always, there was often league players who were forced to play union due to their private school having a ban on league, thus they came through the union ranks, Ray Price an exampleIt's worth noting that article from long before where Hunt admitted League didnt interest him, that actually he's a massive fan of basketball and would prefer to be that.
That's something being missed by the AFL'ers here. It's not like NRL players hate the sport or something, and a mass exodus to occur to AFL. This is one of those few instances. A lot of RL players love the sport and detest the sport of AFL (as a game). And im sure there are AR players (like Rooke) who would love to play RL, or are bored of the AFL game.
Remember decades ago....Union players would defect to RL all the time, and it was always the money (Union amateur at the time). That would be the only reason, professional players being tempted/governed by the love of money. Why Union does threaten league, and Soccer threatens AFL. An AFL player with some soccer background could be tempted to play or try-out like Hunt with an EPL or whatever team and receive something paltry like $5m or more, just to start raiding and weakening the grassroots of AFL (like AFL's reasons for the Hunt signing), and young people in Australia are gonna take notice, as would other AFL players.
Just like how a lot of AFL players are now starting to chase the NFL dollars to be punters, defecting. And with the Cowboys here recently, saying how AFL players could possibly convert well to playing Defensive Back or Wide Receiver in american football, there might start being a raid on AFL juniors here by American College and Pro scouts too, with them doe-eyed at living abroad, getting millions, etc.
He's behind Stewert, Kidley, Hayne and probably Slater as a fullback and the only reason he got a shot originally was because of the injury problems of Minichello, who was better than any of the fullbacks already listed.Karmichael instantly becomes the toughest player in the league, I follow Rugby League as well as AFL and K is tougher than any player in AFL by a long way, he hits like a Mack Truck. He will show a few AFL players how to tackle.
For those who said he wasn't even a good League player, well you guys are morons who have no idea about League he was on track to become one League's greatest ever players his vision and passing ability were as good as Darren Lockyer's. He is also a very fast footballer with a remarkable sidestep, the funny thing is you guys think David Rodan has a good step this guy is out of this world with his ability to move in mid air while stepping.
This is a huge loss for League no doubt, but it is in now way a death sentence League produces world class athletes at a much higher rate than AFL does, and that is a fact.
Surely a Brett Kirk type I would've thought... the handballing from the bottom of a crunching pack would be easier for him to pick him up than silky 50m pinpoint kicks from the HBF?

wouldnt you agree that the waikato-bay of peace magic is the best name for a team ever?Definitely. Far better to be a sports-lover and appreciate them all. We do already like when the Soccer WC is on, RU WC, AFL GF, RL GF, Wimbledon, British Open Golf, etc etc. Many one-eyed fans of codes get right behind the Wallabies, Kangaroos, Aussie IR team, Socceroos, etc. Even netball ive grown to appreciate recently watching a lot of it on ONE HD, that ability of theirs to like really stretch out AND bend sideways while maintaining balance on one foot with physical pressure applied by defenders, when receiving a pass....those Goal scoring girls.

ive never heard of this bloke, good luck to him.
I'd be surprised if he reached the same heights of one of the greats of the 90's.I hope he ends up as good as Paul Kelly who I'm pretty sure played league into his mid teens. Kelly was a sensational footballer and tough as nails, easily one of my all time favourites.
It will be interesting to see what position he plays. I could see him as a very good ruck rover.
