Unfortunately, the on demand for AFL games doesnt work. Its live games only.

Kayo has the 2018 season on demand, just started watching ANZAC Day. Looks like HD too.

Why would people pay for pirated streams? Just suss them out for free. Easy enough to find.

Because they are unstable as hell. Paid illegal streams like HDip have actual support, are privately broadcast so have very few people on with no buffering, and are packaged in an electronic tv guide on the tv along with 6000 other channels for easy access. And they aren't easy enough to find. Tell me where I can watch channel 7,9, 10 in Aus from every city in Aus? Where can I watch all the movie channels from US and the UK? where can I watch every single TV channel from the US? Does Kayo sports have every NBA game live?

So yeah, there are many reasons.

Watching live footy (channel 505) is amazing. Looks 1080p 60fps and very smooth on tv and laptop.

However, watching replays of AFL games maxes out on 720p and 30fps which looks choppy and laggy and overall not that great, especially on a tv. It is watchable, but a lot worse compared to 1080p.

Hopefully there is a fix to this. Will likely be happy to pay 25 per month at seasons beginning.
Not sure if anyone else has this issue

What if you have average WIFI? Kayo is going to be pretty much useless as ****
Use a wired connection. If you can't run cable use powerline adapters or get a wifi range extender.

Along with everything else that you use that relies upon wifi?...

ITT: people who like to bitch about technology and options

My wifi is pretty slow (internet speed test usually shows less than 4mbps) and kayo still works fine most of the time.

I have had Foxtel's premium package for over 12 years. With the new set up on the IQ4 4k box it is the best it has ever been. In saying this, I have a wife and 3 kids who all utilise the service either on TV or via their tablets. The overall convenience of its recording and included HD streaming service for movies and TV shows is excellent. Like anything though the value of a product differs per person/family depending on circumstance and use.

Ahhh...thanks for that. I saw last year's finals, but couldn't work out how to get other matches.

Found it on the PC, now just have to struggle with the Apple TV UI and remote to find it on there.

Had some issues over the weekend for the first time in a while using the Edge browser on Xbox One, picture & audio freezing after 10 minutes or so of viewing, clearing the cache seemed to help but problem returned, support didnt want to know, rolled out the old 'Kayo does not support Xbox, use one of these devices etc etc'. Also wouldnt give any advice on when we might see apps for xbox or ps4. Reminded me of the old days when using Foxtel support, maybe theyve employed some of their old staff...

Interesting article in the Fin Review (apologies if it has already had a run)
https://www.afr.com/business/media-...l-revenue-and-subscriber-base-20190123-h1adnl

"With its lower price point, we believe Kayo Sports will significantly grow Foxtel's household penetration," Mr Beadle and Mr Choi wrote. "While Kayo Sports will cannibalise some Foxtel subscribers, the growth in household penetration will offset this from both a revenue and gross margin perspective."

Highly considering Kayo for the season.

One question for current users - is there much of a delay between live TV and the Kayo stream?
A bit of a delay.

When I was testing on the cricket FTA was first with Foxtel satellite a few seconds after that and then Kayo a bit further delayed. It wasn't enough to bother me.

Finally cancelled Foxtel, was paying $68 per month.

My Mum has Foxtel though, so I can still use Foxtel Go. She has an old Seniors Pack subscription + Movies.

Bit the bullet today and signed up with Kayo. Streaming it through Chromecast Ultra using iPhone or iPad as my controller. Quite impressed so far, had a couple of hiccups with the picture quality dropping in and out but it returns to HD fairly quick. After using Austar and Foxtel for more than 17 years I’ve finally convinced the wife that we don’t need to pay $120 / month to watch sport anymore. With Kayo, Netflix, and Stan I reckon I’ll be $70 a month better off:cool:
