'produced', or 'purchased'..?

They've done well with their recruits, that's for sure. I guess it stemmed from lamaro playing at mernda with Daniel sage that probably got the ball rolling, then the lure of success and pretty good remuneration got them over the line.

Who is the chf you're talking about..?

We neither produced or purchased just provided - a comfortable environment to play football with a couple of his good mates.

Ben Power from Doutta Stars

Ben is a local bloke who is retuning back to the club where he played his junior footy. He has returned to take over the family farm and thought it was time to play for his old club. Dosen't get paid and hasn't asked for any so good pickup, l guess we are just lucky..:)

VT flying high after looking at the football ground on google earth.

Or is that just another load of players arriving?

Great shot from the satellite all the same:thumbsu:

Pretty close their with your tips blackie, Vt, Lanky game should be an absolute cracker, hope for a huge crowd with Vt to win by less than a kick:thumbsu:

From the Avenel v Tally game match report - 'Chris Longmore Tally stri(c)king 1 charge'. First game back from a lengthy suspension, reported every year for the last four years. Of course he may get off but if he doesn't then the question needs to be asked about the liabilities of playing such people.

VT too good - up by 17 points.

Cheers big gun  prob a bit harsh to suggest Hank has 'no idea' when he only got the margin wrong.. Not many have played more local footy or know as much about the teams as he does. And he was probably justified when gig drew with lanky one week then VT smoked them the next.

Anyway, good effort by lanky, gotta give them credit, they're always there a bouts and going on that result are definitely in the hunt for back-to-back this year.

No idea Hank.

You could say i have no clue, still think they are a 10 goal better side, obviously conditions weren't condusive to a high score and I said that thinking Whelan was playing so I'll just say he would have made up another 7 goals!! Enjoy getting close, because thats as good as it will get;).

Was at the VT lanky game today.. Great game both sides strong at the contest.. The big CHF Ben powers who I mentioned earlier during the week may have turned out to be a bit of a flop.. Went down early on with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.. But even before that was unimpressive..
In the bar with john trotter after game, he still owes me a beer..

Hank l still think you are a good judge of kdfl footy, and with Wheels out it did have an effect but Lanky were very good and will improve as the year goes on, top 3 side for me...Rat , as for owing you a beer, walked into the rooms with a pineapple , had five beers and waked out with small change, sounds to me like you owe me a beer you tight ass:D

You still owe me that slab from the vt Stanhope final last year.

Aside from a light shower in the 3rd quarter conditions were pretty good. Whelan was out, but you could argue that this would have been more than balanced up by no Barnett, Nunn or Burnett for the other side.

Was windy, cold n ground was damp for whole 2nd half after 3rd quarter showers.... And it was a Sunday match. But the ball wasn't as slippery as you would've expected in the conditions.
Add Casey to the list of missing players from Lanky. It was clearly not Lanky's best team. And compared to the week before for us, Ben Power and Wheels combined for 18 goals and a lot of goal assists. We were probably a bit wasteful in front of goal at times and we only had one on the bench for the 2nd half. Was a well fought out contest over the 4 quarters yesty, it was our 2nd quarter that set it up, but from there the margin stayed fairly steady around the 2 to 3 goal mark for the remainder of the game.
Lanky's ruckman was probably their best player and our best three were probably Lee, Mitchell and Ross.

Hey Woodman how come you forgot to mention the Avenel player who decided the best option was to start throwing punches at spectators during the game and also that player being reported 3 times during the game and an investigation into the spectator incident???? Makes longmore,s record of 4 times in 4 years look like his a golden child! Best you get that thug out of your club before potting other players at other clubs:thumbsdown:

I wonder if there might be more than one investigation after Avenel review their video recording of the game:rolleyes: Pretty sure that Longmore might have been involved in a couple of other unprovoked incidents, one of which left the Avenel player you refer to concussed just moments before the incident in which he was reported. Tally's number 3 (don't know his name) could also find himself in some strife I'd think. I wonder too if the video might have captured the supporter you refer to leaning over the fence and grabbing the Avenel player by the jumper immediately prior to being struck. I guess things aren't always what they seem.

Sounds like the whole game was a disgrace. You woul hope the league comes down hard on everyone involved if what is being reported on here is even close to accurate

Wow, too close to the bone was I? Did I use the word 'thug'? Did I say I was at the game? Feel free to dispute any of the facts that were put forward but also consider these: Longmore was given a lengthy suspension after an investigation, Longmore was permitted to take a set penalty for striking two years in a row when the second incident should have automatically gone before the tribunal as per VCFL report sheet instructions. Every club has 'white line' players but when YOU use the word 'thug' one has to wonder what is going on in your subconscious.
