for all u blokes out there havn a dig at the selectors, for yr information they didn't have much to work with there was only 4 players miss out and that was gledhill, pedretti times 2 and Fitzpatrick from gig. there pulled out injured threw the week, Spiro, haysom and another one I can't remember. so u can only pick a team that wants to play?

King you say only 4 players missed out, Gledhill Pedretty and the 2 Fitzpatricks. Todays shep news said that Bourke was only called up late to cover Breen if he did not come up because he suffered concussion last week. You cant tell me that one of the young blokes that missed out would not be more value than Bourke in that side, different if we had no talls but there is another 4 in the team. So yes i do think the selectors have stuffed this one up.

No players from murch and lancy watched them play each other 2 weeks back both sides loaded
with star players .but for what ever reason none are included in the side. Any way lets all get behind the
KDL and hope they come out on top

If sali makes inter league team we are doomed !
Looks like we're doomed Godzilla ;) .... and I may be a bit biased, but I think Sean gledhill was very unlucky. Would think someone with his hardness around the ball (and his love for tackling) would be perfect for inter league footy

Good call {jayco} you are not biased at all Sean Gledhill with his leg speed and hardness at the ball
and great tackling should have won him selection

Well everyone makes an error sometimes THIS. Is their error He can play down back or midfield play short or tall has a huge motor and can shutdown when need He's lucky to have me as his player agent. Lol. Gledhill the account is in the mail lol :)

Quality young hard at it onballer who would have probably played 50 games over the last 3 years. Obviously haven't taken much notice over the past few years;)

Good start to the day for the RDFL just heard they won the 3rds game 20.18(138) to 3.3(21)

and it gets better... convincing win in the senior game. Looked like you're blokes trained together more than the two times our blokes did. RDFL had more run and used the ball (except for when kicking for goal) a lot better than the KDFL. And this just shows what you get if blokes dont fully embrace the interleague concept.

Much to my dismay I think I called it right when I said doomed !!!!!!!! To be honest I don't even feel like writing anything about it that's how bad it was I'm sorry to the players out there but some of you shouldn't have been . surely that's not the best we have if it is. Well we are doomed !! Surely there is a young ruck man out there that can actually jump OMG. Thank god they didn't kick straight enough said , either everyone needs to be onboard or don't play it ,that's why the AFL doesn't play state of origin , players aren't interested !!!!!

Yeh that 3rd session musta made the difference. They trained Tues/Thurs this week and last Wednesday. Dont worry I could reel off 9-10 guys from the initial RDFL squad that woulda been in the best 22 today had they not declined or been injured.

They don't have to be young mate, one of our's today was 41 :thumbsu:

Never going to have everyone embrace Interleague, but think a chill pill is needed as the rankings are all up the shit at the moment with teams only just joining and sides that joined earlier having an inflated ranking, either way the KDFL will eventualy settle in the bottom 4-6 leagues, sides like the O&K, Picola(north) should settle below the KDFL, Picola North got a leave pass by drawing O&K last year and leaping to 24 before yesterday, they will both tumble back to allow KDFL to win some interleague footy in the years to come, but just because there seems to be a lack of interest and competitiveness at the moment isnt justification to throw the towel in and put it in the too hard basket.
Other leagues that the KDFL should be competitive against are; Picola South (showed werent far away last year), MCDFL, Hume & LVFL. I assume will have to front up against Warrnambool District and if KDFL have to travel down there then its going to be a hard sell again next year and it will be the battle of the wooden spoon(unless other leagues join in).

Sorry Hank but you are wrong AFL Vic in their wisdom changed PDFNL north and PDFNL south around for this year , also think you are kidding yourself if you think their is massive difference between the NW and SE sides .
The SE was easily beaten yesterday till half time , and matched it very well in the last half which like the KDFL match IMO is a direct result of not training often enough together .
I think you'll find leagues within areas will start to be matched up against each other with 1 side per area within the rankings system .
So in essence you'll see , the PDFNL NW and SE , KDFNL , O&K , Golden Rivers all pitted against each other with the highest ranked of those from the previous year playing else where . They win they continue as the area's representative in the championships they loose and the highest ranked in the area comp steps up the next year .

You are RIGHT, can only go off the draw that was circulated around that had NW playing yesterday and SE today and the rankings that had NW at 24, Doesn't change my point of view, will just allow KDFL to maybe meet the NW sooner, or even better pit SE and NW head to head.

Can you find my quote where I said there was a massive difference between SE and NW? IN MY OPINION SE is a little stronger than NW, and I believe that opinion is held by most in the Goulburn, Murray and Southern NSW region.

On your point, I mentioned two years ago that the half a dozen minor leagues in the area should just have a ranking system and play between each other each year to see where everyone really is in the pecking order, if at the very least it will then allow hacks like ourselves to be able to have some substance and facts to back up our opinions on what leagues stand where at any given time.

You stated , or words to the effect that KDFL should beat NW and get close to the SE . Having just watched the NW and watching SE yesterday . Along with sides from each division play knee each other in praccy matches at the start of the year , IMO there is little if anything in between both divisions .

Thanks for backing me up, yep, no mention of a massive difference, but yes I did intimate that I believe SE is ahead of NW(My opinion based on not seeing a practice match or interleague game from either comp, but happy to stick with it) . Would be fair to assume that is why they swapped the rankings of the two leagues also. Something reading between the lines, you did not agree with?

Actually you are wrong and tipping I may have a little more incite into it .
Out of interest you have ever seen either the NW or SE sides play ? Or a NW or SE game between similar placed sides ?

Hank you have made a wrong assumption why change in rankings. You got kids???
It's like this SE are a pretty excitable bunch like a demanding child, NW just roll their eyes and go with the flow, like the quiet easy to get along with kid. SE very unhappy with ranking may have spoke to "mum" aka vcfl for a change. Vcfl knowing the difference in character between the two made the swap but as a reward to NW for being such a likeable bunch gave them the opportunity to play at Visy.
Now NW thought hell yeah we'll accept that then picked a heap of their youngsters to give them the chance of a lifetime to play on an AFL ground!!! The facts stand up that my version is true don't ya think?

For what it's worth, two years ago all the club delegates voted to restart our interleague side and said that we are 100% committed to the cause. What I saw yesterday was close to a second string side ( no disrespect to the guys that took the field and battled their butts off ) and some of them were far from our best players. Bourkey was a total disgrace with less than 5 possessions for the game and others were way out of their depth. Greg Watson told me it costs the league $9000 dollars a year to put the interleague side together so unless we make it compulsory to play we may as well save our money and put it down to a bad joke. Their should be a selection committee put together and they choose the best side we have to offer eg: the best full back plays full back and the best onballers play onball. Fine the CLUBS say $400 dollars for every player who does not participate unless it is deemed they have a legit excuse and suspend the player for 1 week. We risked Pat Horsburgh yesterday who played injured and still gave his all because he wants to represent his league yet Murch , Lancy and others turned their back on the league with no representation at all..While this may sound a bit harsh some of the excuses given were bullshit and it is starting to become a bit embarrassing to those involved. Showcase our best or get rid of it... Just my opinion.

Like your thinking Jax although must say I would hugely surprised if that is all it is costing your league even playing at home which has been the case the first two years and unlikely to occur in 2014 .
Many leagues endure costs closer to $20k for away games .

Actually you are wrong and tipping I may have a little more incite into it .
Out of interest you have ever seen either the NW or SE sides play ? Or a NW or SE game between similar placed sides ?
Wrong on what? Asked you the question because I know YOU would have more incite than me on the situation regarding the change, and wouldilietoyou has backed up what I assumed had happened!! Please fill me/us in on your incite?

Seen one game of each league, as I have said, just my opinion, based from players I have seen and how they have gone in each league, that is all I am basing my opinion on the standard on, and I am happy to do that, obviously your opinion has more substance in that you have seen a lot of footy from both leagues, but also seeing you were aligned with a NW club, maybe you opinion could also be seen as biased, whereas I could not care less which league is better.
From memory just made a comment that I felt the KDFL could beat the NW and be competitive against the SE, you felt the need from that to stretch the truth and say that I was "kidding yourself if you think their is massive difference between the NW and SE sides."
