Just heard on the grapevine that Ben Johnson had signed on with VT for the rest of the year?

Thats the word Mainland, because he has retired from the AFL he can register with a club after June 30. He would have been the worst kick in the AFL but will hold his own in the KDFL I think:D

Interesting point you make Mama, i had a look at the game last weekend and i can give you one reason why there were no Rushworth players put in the book, because they did nothing that was reportable. Please tell me that he will not go in and play the old school yard he hit me so i hit him card.

It was the first time i had seen Mallington play and looked like he had the better of Rushworth at the start of the match, but after 3 or 4 inside 50's the rushworth defender worked him out. He reminded me of the old days when you would line up on the "FAT CAT" Meka., Mellington was grabbing an arm or a jumper and pulling the defender into him then pushing off and taking marks.

Rowland from Rushworth is also a smart defender and started to play off him and jump into him and punch the ball away, im not sure that Mellinton enjoyed that, if you like to play body on body and a defender works you out you will have players making solid contact with you all day. Is this the whacking you are talking about?

I was at the clubroom ends when he snapped hit the rushworth player in the head, yes there was a it of bumping and pushing before he hit the rushworth player.

The thing that will not work well for Mellington is the Rushworth player left the ground under the blood rule and he did not leave the ground as soon as he was sent off.

Anyway thats what i remember seeing i could be wrong as i was not in the heat of things. Im sure somone will fill us in on the findings in the next day or 2.

On another note Murch will take some getting hold of this year, their Mids were fantastic and Milne is a class above.

My tip for the flag - Murch to roll VT

B&F Grant Conners - Nagambie
Stanhope should win the flag with the cattle they are putting on the park at the moment

Pell will have a good tussle with Horsburgh for the medal although Chris Mckay with his flashy style may take a few votes away from Patty

Anyone care to completely scrap their Premiership predictions now?? I think I have.. Hello John Carrot, wherever you are.. We thought you were crazy, maybe you are you silly old man. But I think now is the perfect time to return for one final "I TOLD YOU SO!!"

Think qwerty is talking about foot skills, not overall skills as its a no brainier that he'll be the best player in the comp... Or maybe just behind teammate..

If you were the rest of the sides who will be playing finals (barring any disasters), Stanhope, Murchison, Merrigum, Nagambie & Lancaster you would have to clarify that with the league as to what happens with players who go to new clubs after June 30 because even on one leg Ben Johnson would be a very handy pickup.

No need, precedent and hence rule came to light last year in GV when Dan Connors was dropped off Richmond's list and signed on at Shepp United after June 30th.

I'd be very surprised if a couple of KDFL clubs didnt have anything to do with the poaching of these 3. The new (very smart) recruiting strategy is coming to the fore and will be more important than any recruits their clubs actually get.;)
Thought I would pull this out from along way back Hank, so would like to thank Nagambie for opening up our salary cap and give us the room for Tarrant, Kinnear and now Benny, I have flipped a few bum nuts of late for my egg and bacon rolls but it seems some eggs have landed 40kms away in someones face. Ah well let the games begin.. PS I hope this dosen't come back to bite me.:D

u silly boy, y would u cum out and say that shit, when yr more than likely going to be playing them in the first final. I'm sure nagambie will use this as a massive motivation for that game. u should no better not to shoot ya mouth of look Wat happened in 2011? that is all

Motivation is all ours champ, long memories. Are you worried:confused:

Anyone keen at having a crack at what clubs are spending this year? There are a few $ being chucked around.

I will have a go not including the coach.

Longwood and Ardy $25k - $30k

Undera and Tally $30k -$35k

Rushy and Gig $35k - $40k

Avenel $35k - $45k

Lanky and Nagambie $60k - $75K

Merrigum $75k - $90K

VT $90k - $100K

Stanhope and Murch $90k - $110K

I forgot about Daniel Connnors playing at Shepp United last year after getting sacked from Richmond, but at least having Ben Johnson playing for the Towners has created interest in a season that for a month at least was in a holding pattern until the start of the finals.

Which is entirely due to the KDFL having a final 6, because there is 10 points and a gulf in class between 6th placed Lancaster and 7th placed Avenel, a final 5 at least would've seen a tight tussle between 5th placed Violet Town and 6th placed Lancaster to see who would take the last spot, also Merrigum who I predict will probably finish 3rd would at least have a double chance, where as now, Merrigum might face a Violet Town or a Lancaster and have a big chance of getting bundled out in the 1st week, when they have had a great season so far and don't deserve to have that fate trust upon them.

I know I said this before, but a top 6 is fine if the gap between the sides in the competition isn't that great, but when it is like that in this league, it doesn't make sense.

Completely understandable given Connors inability to make any impact. As Kings said, the real stuff is yet to come. Six days is a long time let alone six weeks - just ask Julia. In six weeks time Kevin could even be back on the nose!

I agree, we as a club voted for the final 5 but some clubs thought the 6 was a better option. To me the 5 rewards the side for finishing top and a lesser reward for finishing in 2nd and 3rd with the double chance, if you weren't good enough to make the top 3 then you play off in the elimination which is fair. At the moment their is no advantage in finishing 3rd as you may as well finish 6th. Personally I hate it but we all have opinions..

Stanhope and Nagambie are good odds.

Towners only chance will be if the three ex local boys Tarrant, Kinnear and Johnson stay fit for the finals
Not sure about nagambie they have beaten some good sides thou, merrigum would be good odds thou there depth could trouble them if they get a few injuries against the likes of VT, Stanhope n Murch.

Nagambie have Lancaster, Merrigum & VT over the next 3 weeks. The results of those games will give an indication of where they're at.

Highly likely they will play one of them again in an Elimination final soon after.

Murch, Stanhope & VT are the strongest for me, especially with a full list available.

My tips for Round 15:
VT over Tally by 50
Nagambie over Lanky by 15
Avenel over Ardy by 60
Stanhope over Rushy by 45
Murch over Longwood by 70

Good luck to all sides this weekend
