A fair bit of talk of late about clubs' recruiting. I see in the paper the other day Ardy have picked up a couple more under Simmo.

Anyone care to giver there Pre-Season form guide of how the ladder may look(Top 5 im more worried about but if you have the time by all means have a stab at a full ladder). I'll kick it off....

Wouldn't be Scott Marshall would it? I haven't heard anything on this as yet. They may entice him to head out there by giving him cooking duties on the Thursday night and I'm sure he would jump at the opportunity if it were presented.:thumbsu:

You say they have been letting good players go and replacing them with reserve players, this must be the best way to recruit then as they have won 2 out of the last 3 flags and weren't far off this year:D. Baker & Densley are the two kids you dont know and harrison and hansford if these are the players that carried them through well hello they look like there going and the players that are suppose to be coming martin suffolk and reardon sorry one might be a senior player the others are seconds and what im told they arnt for free

Harrison & Hansford carried Stanhope into finals? I didnt follow the mainland too closely this year but i know for a fact they weren't Stanhopes better players for the season. Pappin was by far the best when we came up against them both times and some other kid, not sure of his name tho? I never said Harrison carried the team i said he will be the only loss worth worrying about.

As for Martin, Reardon and Suffolk. Martin is a senior footballer aswell as Reardon. Suffolk played seconds football last year after being hampered with back problems but played pretty good football the year before and when i was speaking to a Stanhope footballer over the phone he told me Suffolk wouldnt be getting paid

I also think it sounds a bit fishy! I think the 'mighty' Redlegs stand to lose more than what they will gain from the sacking of their coach. From what I have heard and seen, some other clubs are boing very successful in luring some of Longwoods better players to their clubs....im not prepared to mention any names at this point. But the point i am getting at is that the way Longwood have handled the situation is below pathetic.

Carefull curious! They don't take to kindly to criticism down at Redleg Stadium......don't stick your head up too far as they'll try and knock it off. They'd rather work out who you are so they can come up with a reason why you must jaded with the club, instead of looking at themselves and whether your comments have any merit. Best way for players (I assume your a current player) to send a message is vote with their feet and walk away, and it sounds like thats already happening.

i am not a player for the Leggers but i have lots of contact with a current player. He is very angry with the club and the way Paul was treated and looking to walk, from what i have heard, if he walks then others will walk with him. So i think that sends a fair message........if only Paul was going to coach at another club!

There's already a large number that has apparently moved on so your mate wont be on his own. Unfortunately this is just another case of club politics, where inexperienced individuals put their own ego's and interests ahead of the club and make decisions without the foresight to consider their impact on the playing group or anyone else.

My mates knows he is not alone, he has been to training at another KDFL club a few times this year, but still negotiating terms. Yeah, i know there is one main man at the leggers calling the shots, Mr Ego himself!
Are you a current player? If so, where are you going?

Talking to a bloke at work from LBF he said Martin had more bad games than good, and Blair played 2nds all season. Martin wanted $600 a game when Canavan spoke to him 3 years ago for Gig one would think his price would of gone down by now.

Nah, just an on looker, had a few mates play there this year so I went to watch. Such a shame whats going on there, They showed some positive signs on the ground, looked like a team was starting to gel. If they'd improved their fitness and recruited a couple of key players they may have been atleast competitive in the KDFL. With the workings of a few individuals its all been quickly undone, the exodus of players will see them struggle to field teams let alone be competitive.
.....and people blame the $$$ for ruining country football!!!

Martin will be handy, very good GV footballer in his day but will be handy enough in the KD especially if he is played deep forward!!, will be too smart and strong for most. Reardon hard nut who will be very handy, and Suffolk may have played mainly twos this year but Stanhope need a ruckman big time so he will fill that void without to much trouble.

Poor old Longwood; they are just the "Canary in the Coalmine" an indication of how no one wants to take reponcibility of how country footy is performing.
look at junior footy = thousands of kids playing soccer in Vic
= poisonous elite junior competition
= Auskick great?....then fails the 12-14 year olds
= Weak VCFL....AFL has last sight of the game more interested in developing kids on the Goldcoast and Western Sydney.

VCFL you have NO PLAN:mad:

Would probably be Ryan Patten, came runner up in the B&F to Pappin.

Very talented young footballer. Give it 1 or 2 years and he will be a dominant midfielder in this league (if he stays), i wouldn't blame him if he left to try and make a name in a higher league. Has shown a lot of potential in the last 4 years ( 2006 - 3rd in Inch Medal, 2007 - 2nd in Inch Medal, 2008 Winner of Inch Medal and 2009 Runner Up B&F at Stanhope.
 
Good to see Longwood has signed a senior coach. Now the clean up can start. Though it appears it has been running on self clean.
When does training start?
How long do I have to drop 20kg?

Was just told its not Ricky Shiner coaching. How can that be? It was said!

Traing has been underway for about a month.
