100% u say Wheelie wear u hear that.I heard the Midget was still undecided on what to do, wether he finally brings his 100 senior games up at Stanhope or follows his bro to Tonny.

It seems you know a lot about the little fellas personal statistics. I dont even know how many games i have played, let alone someone else!!!

Merry xmas Simon!!!

Re: Kyabram District FL

The Stanhope one is interesting as they are not tied to a pub at the moment so you would think they would have the best show sponsorship wise.[/QUOTE]

Stanhope not willing to pay out the big bucks. hank, are you suggesting that Stanhope will make the Commercial there go to pub? Bones would not be happy with that. My mail says that Girgaree are willing to pay the money but cant get the guy to commit.

Re: Kyabram District FL

Just to add something different here, Murchison has re-signed Matt McDonald for another season, and although the Assistant Coach job hasn't gone to anyone yet, Hayden Howard is the most likely candidate at this stage.

League Under 18's B&F, Brett Hughes has been signed on to coach the reserves, which is fantastic, not only is he a former junior, but Brett has one of the sharpest football brains going around, and not only am I sure that he'll bring a few players, but will be of valuable assistance to Matt as well.

The Thirds position has yet to be filled with 2005 Coach, Gavin Gledhill deciding not to continue beyond this year, but we do need a bloke that can get kids from beyond Murchison to bolster our ranks (like the sons of former players that are playing for Tat, etc), because Gavin did a great job last season, and we want to make sure that it wasn't a flash in the pan.

I would be lying if I said that 2005 was an un-eventful year for the Murchison FNC, but in 2006, we want to get blokes that aren't going to cause us multitudes of off field dramas, and although it's likely that we'll lose a few players from last year, i'm confident that well at least fill in the gaps in our defence, a finally develop a strong spine in our 1st XVIII (because when you have a strong spine, you can fly without wings).

We've got a great new President in Mick Kerrins, (who used to be heavily involved with Tat), and Mick Tuhan's now Vice President, and with the committee feeling positive about next year, the 'Hoppers will still be in the mix in 2006.

P.S
Frank & Sharon (The New Publicans) at the Cally Hotel Murchison, have been FANTASTIC for the town and for our community organisations (Including the Cricket & Football/Netball Clubs), and with all of our meetings now moved to the Pub (YAY:D ), i'm sure that our traditionally strong relationship will make us both strong for years to come.

Don't know about the money situation, but probably smart not to throw too much at him and not in Stanhope's make up to pay someone who is not going to train.
The Pub situation has been frosty for a few years now, the club doesnt get its alcohol form there anymore and most away games were back at the clubrooms this year, so would not be any different for Bones.

Just read in the gvfl thread that Rochie are trying hard to entice hooda(gray) back.

Yeh, not sure how successful they'll be, but will be interesting to see what he decides to do. Imagine it'd be a 50/50 bet at the moment. Heard a very strong rumour from an influential member of the committee at Stanhope that Nick Gibbs will be playing in Melb next year. If Stanhope lost both him and Hoot, it would bring them back to the pack a bit.

what about Big danny irwin - heard a whisper that he might be keen on stanhope? any truth to this one stanhopians?

Hope they haven't chased him HJ32, wouldnt show much respect to Pearcey. But then again it couldve been different grand final day if they took a punt on him - so maybe the whisper of Pearce back to Avenel aint entirely nonsense. What was Danny's reason for leaving Colbo again?

Heard his bro in law Budda Poole was keen to play seconds at Stanhope and was trying to talk big Danny into having a run aswell.

Re: Kyabram District FL

 DOES anyone know much about Mark Salakowski, allegedly an ex-GVFL rep. player, who may have coached in your league, or somewhere close by.
He's now training at Bendigo League club Kangaroo Flat, and i hear he's about 35 or 36.

Sala was a gun in his younger days, regular GV rep who I think went down to Coburg with Jon Solomon for a year or two also. Has played at Avenel in recent years. Asked several Avenel guys at cricket on the weekend about this and a few said he hasn't set the world on fire the past 2 years and were surprised he was having another go at a supposed major league. I played for Avenel a bit in 2001 but Sala missed a lot thru injury. Always presents himself well and will give his body every chance to get up.

Sala was 18 when he played in the 91 flag, so that makes him 33 or 34. Physically he'll handle all the running no problems but its the contact side of things that might catch up with him now.
Don't expect big things from him K/flat fans, but hopefully he'll guide some young blokes and provide some good leadership on field.....

Re: Kyabram District FL

from the gvfl board
heard girgarre offered archard and a few other efc boys big coin. Not sure if RA would drop back to that level but we are talking very big dollars. If efc lose these 3 or 4 would hurt the club quite a bit.

snelson
canavan
walsh
winterton
wayman?

Ohlsen and Cox are definitely playing at Rushworth next year and they fully expect Winterton to play as well. Has a lot of good mates at Rushy, they just need to come to an agreement. Dujon would kill him if he left.

thought they would, just heard rumours they were being pursued by gig.

Goes to show that money aint everything, you gotta have a strong commodity that you believe in and be able to sell/promote it well. Maybe the rumours that Gig's recruiting is in more strife than the early settlers would be more accurate.

not welcome in roo land !!where excactly is that? such a shame.. Roo Land is in between Tonny & Stanhope. A place where I support. it is a shame as you put it that people put there money into something for another to rip off.anyone that takes money off a club for nothing and leaves is not worth talking about. lets just leave it at that

Re: Kyabram District FL

big brezza did receive a payment for singing on, but gave it back to gig when he left the club. enough said.

fantastic post KK, i'm sure orry will be very 'impressed' to hear that not only does he cop sh*t at the pub but also on the net.

Re: Kyabram District FL

I know a lot of people will be suprised, but Perry Meka is coming out of retirement again to pull on the boots for Ardmona. This is 99% confirmed. They will also retain nearly all the players from last year and have a few on the go.

Well that would have to be the biggest news story for the year by far Rowey, can't believe it. Will this man ever retire, sorry he has done that 6 times now, I'll rephrase, Hang up the boots for good!!
Must admit will still kick around the 100 mark though
