Great win by Stanhope, no real contest in the end. The game was played in relatively good spirits, with a bit of push and shove here and there, but overall it was a pretty clean game.
Stanhope dominated from start to finish which is why it amazes me that Sanders won the BOG. If a side losses by 87 points surely none of there players could get BOG, they might get a lot of possessions but those possessions obviously had no influence on the end result. Which is exaclty what happened with Sanders, He got a lot of the ball but didn't do much with it, if he did they would have kicked more than 4 goals.

It is an amazing effort to pick up bog in a team that lost by 87 points. No offence to Sanders, but i am amazed that it is possible in such a one sided affair.

Yes I tend to argee with that. Sanders was good early, but in such a team effort from the Stanhope boys it might have been to hard to pick one winner? There could have been 4-5 worthy winners of the BOG for Stanhope eg: Mason, Trist, Grinton or Clymo, who judges the award??:thumbsu:

The umpires give the award, so that just says it all.

But the award is for individual performance and not weather the team wins or looses.
Mind you it would be easy to go get as many kicks as you like when your team is getting flogged and you dont really need to be accountable for you direct opponent.

Jughead was the recipiant of a hip and shoulder from Meka.
It was over a few words that was said to him, but not by Jughead. Meka turned around after the comment was made and saw a Avenel shirt. When he saw the red shirt he got a little angry. I think he might have turned into a bull or something because he just started to charge at him.

BOG probably means a different things to different people. But to me it has nothing to do with how many possessions you get, it's what you do with them and the influence those possessions has on the result. This to me would mean that Sanders wouldn't even get in the top half dozen.

Correct. If a team is smashed I find it hard to beleive they had the player with the most influence on the result playing for them.

Because all the money that was made on the bar, canteen & lollie stands (which would've raised thousands might I add) would've been wasted if it was run by another KDFL club, yeah, really wonderful:rolleyes:.

Mooroopna would've easily made 15 thousand out of that day, and why shouldn't they, we were the morons who approved this decision in the first place, and now they don't have to find another $15,000 to go and buy another Balraj Singh for next season, I mean if our clubs were stupid enough to allow this, why shouldn't they take the KDFL to the cleaners, and no wonder they were happy they are literaly the Cats who got the KDFL cream served up to them in a golden bowl.

This decision and the circumstances behind it show that common sense isn't that common, and in a football league it's virtually non-excistent:(, I mean all the clubs who voted on this all whined about how Undera and that hold all the finals and bitched about how much money they were making, so their solution was to line the pockets of Mooroopna, so our Grand Day becomes nothing more than a Mooroopna fund raiser, bravo:).

And that's what really sticks in my craw about having the Grand Final at Mooroopna (and that's why I chose not to go, for the first time since I moved up here in 1996), that is money that SHOULD OF gone to another KDFL club (Like what happens in the Picola League where the clubs who aren't competing get the chance to run Bars & Canteens, and make some money from the day) instead of lining the coffers of an already wealthy GVFL club.

I know that I have brought up all of these points before, but it's an indictment on the KDFL executive that they would have no qualms in maliciously taking money away from the likes of Undera, Lancaster & Murchison (by yanking the Grand Final away from them, even though it has been run very well for the last few decades), to stuff in the pockets of Mooroopna so they can lord it over everyone in the Cricket Club Pavillion like a committee of King Tut's, instead of doing something about the true problems facing this league, and not having our Grand Final played somewhere else because of an ego trip, because ATM the KDFL board has acted like a Robin Hood from a parallel universe, stealing from the poor (Undera & Murchison) to give to the rich (Mooroopna).

I'm not totally against having the Grand Final at a central location (I never doubted Mooroopna's ability to be a good host, because their set-up is great), what I am upset about is that the set up here is all stacked against the KDFL, because it's our day, we (as a league) should get the money, Mooroopna should be compensated, but they shouldn't be able to skim off the cream, and leave us with some white fluid that's only fit to feed pigs.

I know that few people that went to the Grand Final thought about where the money trail ended, (and it disturbs me that so many of you here can't see the wood from the trees when it comes to this) but I think that it's wrong, and the current arrangement should be scrapped and renegotiated so our clubs (all 12 them in 2008), can get a better deal than the dud that was laughingly presented to us on Saturday.

was at the g/f, dont follow the kdfl at all but was up at echuca for a footy trip and cme across to watch the gf, i thourght the standard of the game was fairly poor, skills were really no the best and all the boys thourght for a gf the game would have been alot better, just wondering if 29 from ardmona won the medal, i know they were smashed but he would have had 30+ plus possies for the game, didnt really seem to have an apponent

so your basically saying the standard of the game is as bad as your spelling, 29 did win the medal, the clanger king as he was knicknamed on the day. Tally would have put up more of a fight.

you'd think that a stanhope player would have one the medal since they won by nearly 90 points.. but all of the stanhope team stood out every player put in 100% to beat ardy by that much.. brock clymo had a great game kepping meka goaless maybe even without a kick.. well done to stanny.. meka was diving around everwhere trying to get free's..

Stanhope are sore loosers an sore winners an there supporters are a disgrace Willy played well i thought an he was the only standout u should change your name to NOHOPER

Come on Catdog, when it comes to supporters I don't think anyone from ARDMONA should be critical of opposition supporters.
