rushy seniors wont take many of the 3rds if they do they prob play 2 games which isnt good but thats the way it is i rekon every will stick together and play 3rds

i have been hearing that rushy have picked up a few players in the seniors and now not many thirds boys will have to play so its looking better for rushy boys now.

Thas good to hear that rushy will have a seniors side, will they have enough for a 2nds or will they still be strugling for a 1's side? Rumour has it that they should have a 2's side but i am not to sure about that.

reedy i think they call him and haydn chillingsworth or something they could be better players if they chose to share it more often.

Haydn Chillingsworth is normal a very selfish player but i have to admit did play a great game on sundy night against the stanhope boys, got a few clearences and did happen to see him actually pass the ball off a few time which is a rare thing to see from him, is this a new Haydn or was it just one of these rare occasions?

Undera has recruited a few of those 'mediocre' players that pop up every now and then and make handy contributions to the team.

Bleeper is correct in saying that 3 players cant win a game, but the lions have found some handy recruits to add to their competitive side of last year.

has anyone heard anything of late from the redlegs or wombats?

cheers

Got any names of those new recruits for undera? i have heard alot about this team, sounds like a bloody good side to me. to many good players in one team wont work unless they are willing to work together and not want the spotlight all for themselves

are many players this year going to be playing majority seniors than thirds? i know rushy will because of lack of numbers but are there any players that are just good enough to play in their senior side?

This year for a few teams seems like number are hard to get but come closer to the season they all start to apear again. alot of the older blokes dont come to training due to the fact that the weather has been rather hot so its to hard to judge how many players a side will have. A few boys from under 18's will have to stand up this yr to play 2 games and they will be good enough to at Rushy as u said they are short of number but the boys that are playing are all about 18 anyways so there skills are right up there. :thumbsu:

So who does everyone think will win the night series? Nagga's does look good but need more fitness if they want to be a contender in the actual competition. Rushy dont look much like a team to me but there are a few individuals that might pull them across the line against nagga's if they decide to work as a team. Shepp East look strong going direct but can tend to play around with it a bit to much if they go wide, go direct and they are a shoe in. :thumbsu:
nagaz not fit? ur dreamin buddy. they have been trainin since christmas and a few weeks ago went to toc for the weekend and ran 26k's in 2 days. so there ya go. will run over any team in the comp.

haha 13 k a day isnt very much at all, and as for training since christmas...look where its got stanhope, it has probley done them more harm than good in the weather we have been having. if it took 2 days to run 26 ks then there are problems, especially if it on flat land:thumbsdown:

yes 26kms in this heat is a feat in itself, but running along a flat rack, at constant speed is nothing compared to a game. the hardest working midfielders, even in thirds could clock up 10km a game. Starting and stopping at varied pace is much harder then constantly running. but it is a good start.

as i said, they are mediocre players who havnt played in the league before. time will tell how good undera will be.

i see on the transfers the redlegs have come across a few players. any news from the wombats?

cheers

any thoughts on anthony haysom. word around the traps is that hes an overrated player, who is an outside sheepdog. doesnt use his strength properly and was extremely dissapointing playing for notre dame last year. could struggle this year

mate he would run rings around you!!!

just thought id add to this as i saw fired up jeremy fraser train for nagambie last week. put on 10 kilos and grown about 5. now has a big engine room so expecting big things this year. was shit last year

Please!! Would not get a kick in Bart Cumming's stable!!! Slower than a wet week and dropped 5 chest marks in the game!! Hears the train comin!! Thinks he is the next James Hird!!!

Shaun Damon's head should of exploded by now how much does everyone want to talk him up? only played a handful of games for Rushy 3rds last year and came 3 in the league medal.....someone want to explain whats going on cause it isnt tallent thats got him that far....

Don't really believe Shaun is that great to be brutally honest! His best attribute is his kicking. Lovely left foot but doesn't run that much to recieve it, therefore workrate not too high. Good size on the kid. Just gotta close down that Rushy bakery and the boys might be able to run more freely:D

Have you been to the rushy bakery latley cant walk in there with out Dav Chillingsworth throwing a steaming hot pie at your face!

Very true football has became a game were power is constantly needed it is all about bursts and acceleration, this is what is really needed on the football field. running long distances does not really do much, and is quite easy to do because you are setting one consistant pace and making ya legs tick over. but on the footbal field you find your self sprinting, stoping and starting, were it is totally differnt style of running. so running 26km consistant speed cant be that great for ya footy, were burst is style of the game

true blue ive seen him play and played against him he was crap couldnt hold a mark could kick to a target and couldnt tackle a man to the ground. but hes a good kid

training well before the season starts (before christmas) especially in country town clubs like in the KDFL is not really to good. because many clubs dont have quilified fitness trainers and the club trains them on the knowlege they have wich in some cases isnt very much so they train them way to hard and long before the season satrts. there is a certain time in the season were you hit your peak fitness after that you go down hill for a while were your body is burnt out, idealy you should be hitting your peak fitness half way throught the season or bit after so were you can carry it through finals.

not only that, but starting to train with a 3rds side before christmas, the kids in the side by about june will become mentally over footy and look towards the cricket or tennis seasons ahead rather that focusing on the job at hand, which i personnnaly think that the middle rounds of the season are most important as players start to peak, and as these players probably peaked about april or may with their fitness and will gradually take the toll on these bodies which will give a reverse efect on the team

yeah well stanhope burnt themselves out already and the season hasnt started just waiting till nagga's does the same. These boys that play 2 games of footy each week will definalty need there fitness up, will be interesting to see how long there bodies can cope for during the season and i dont think the weather is on their side.:(

Yeah some coaches have no idea about fitness training or how hard to push a team. yes u try do ur fitness work before the season start but u do alot of different varriations of this, like u said u dont just run continuously for 26 k. thats just stupid, u do stop and start and sprint alot in footy, quick burst are whats required in footy. coaches need to take some fitness courses or get someone in to show the boys how it is done and how to take care of your:thumbsu: body so it will last the season
