We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar

When I first read this poem I never pictured it as applying to the football forum of the club I loved.
But yeh it does.

You have hollowed us out Kenneth, and you and your boofy mate have left a void that you hope with be filled by a youth with deeper pockets and lower expectations. Good luck with that.

Feels like the sort of game that we will win with a kick after the siren.
Guess it depends on how much Sportsbet are carrying on both sides.

Whatever. I'll watch, but not sure why.

Preparing to be comprehensively beaten tonight, both sides are down a key forward and a key defender so we’re somewhat equally handicapped and they just seemingly always have our measure. We’ll make it 4 losses in a row, fall to 4th and probably finish there since the worst case this week is to be 2 games clear in 4th en route to a date with the Pies at the MCG where we will be routinely humiliated. That will in turn give us a home semi at the “PoRtReSs” where we’ll meet a side that probably fell on the unlucky side of some close games and it’ll be a season where winnings 13 in a row will amount to nothing.

So yeah, needless to say this is a crucial one to win. Hoping Dante backs up on a decent performance last week, same for Frank The Tank against his old side. Would be nice to see the forward line without Dixon and hopefully Ollie Lord can kick a lot straighter than he did against Carlton to make up for Jez and Todd forgetting how to kick. Aliir will be a huge huge loss but at least there’s no Hawkins so it leaves only Cameron to be covered.

Cats by 19, we’ll never really feel like we’re in it though.

I hope we win and turn around our recent poor form but I will be watching to see what tactics are used during the game or if old habits are back in our gameplan.

I will also be watching if we fall behind, who starts to drop their head first, who stops running.

Who stops running? That will be a complete team effort (apart from Butters and Rozee) lead by the leaders Jonas Wines and DBJ.

We were looking so good a few weeks ago I was starting to believe again. But we have lost our way all of a sudden as we go to kadina park… this could go really bad.

The weird thing is the list has a lot to be worth the price of admission. Lord and Dante are doing their apprenticeships and could become the future of the club.

The problem as has so often been the case is they either smash it, and credit for their performances goes to Ken, who gets an extension, and their careers get burned as a result, or they fail, and their careers fizzle out.

Its just such a depressing cycle and it feels like there is no way to break it.

Agree with all of this ^ but believe Hot Toddy and Finlayson appear to have forgotten how to football
