Massive pet peeve of mine that the majority of players are so one sided these days. Has regressed in the last 20 years which is ridiculous considering players have become full time professionals in that time.

Jayden Short can kick 55m on both sides easily, not as natural as say a Sidebottom on the shorter distances, who is probably the best precision kicker on the non preferred.
Elliot Yeo
Was at that game. City end of Subiaco Oval, on his left tucked up against the boundary from 45m. Drilled it on the run under pressure. Freakish.

I agree, but disagree. if you are in the building trade for example. do you start to randomly hammer with your left hand. or if you work in IT do you randomly move the mouse over to your left hand and start clicking away. i would say that 99% of us don't.It still astounds me the proportion of players at AFL level who aren't at least competent on both sides.
Being a coach of junior football, I ensure any kid with a reasonable amount of ability has a handful of training sessions during the year where they kick exclusively on their opposite foot.
This gives them the confidence to then use it on game day, and they're off and running!
I miss Sammy Mitchell

Noone comes and tackles you while you are banging a nail in because you had to switch the hammer to your preferred hand
ok do tennis players switch hand so the always hit forehand winners. do NFL Quaterback change hand before they throw. Do soccer players kick with their other foot when pinned in. to be honest i think that we are one of the only sports that as a % are probably leading the way for professional sports in this areaCompletely different thing
