I agree, but disagree. if you are in the building trade for example. do you start to randomly hammer with your left hand. or if you work in IT do you randomly move the mouse over to your left hand and start clicking away. i would say that 99% of us don't.
They are really bad analogies.
ok do tennis players switch hand so the always hit forehand winners. do NFL Quaterback change hand before they throw. Do soccer players kick with their other foot when pinned in. to be honest i think that we are one of the only sports that as a % are probably leading the way for professional sports in this area
Now that's better. I too don't watch enough NFL or soccer to comment, but I'd be amazed if international soccer players aren't at least competent on their opposite foot.

And maybe that's the next evolution of the elite tennis player - the ability to switch hands to smash a forehand that you wouldn't otherwise reach with your backhand?

What I do know is that the benefit of practising on the opposite side of your body in AFL is indisputable.

agree to disagree about the first analogies because it shouldn't matter in all walks of life we should aim to do better.

I agree that yes the skills should be practiced which is indisputable. however there are some suggesting that ALL players should have this skill and if they can't they shouldn't be playing which is a ridiculous notation.
