True. I think we can all agree in wishing that Meatloaf had mimed. If they're just miming it won't be meatloaf bad. You've actually got to have a go to be that bad. More likely they will be incredibly boring and the crowd will be tepid.
Honestly much more interesting to watch a car crash like Meatloaf than some blokes phoning it in with a cd.True. I think we can all agree in wishing that Meatloaf had mimed.
They’ve been touring all this year in the US ..by the time they hit the MCG they’ll be Hotter Than Hell.Wont matter, they havent actually played live for the most part in years.
OK... You've surprised me. All those bands are awesome. How long you got?
There are literally 1000's.
Led Zepplin
Aerosmith
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Stopping there cause surely you cant be serious.
Personally I hate DMA, Bird Tokyo, all these homogenous Triple J rock acts but I can get around showcasing Australian artists at our sporting events. The NRL showcasing Gang of Youths was a great example.
Objectively shit as in released a ton of albums, sold a ton of records, had a ton of fans at concerts and had a ton of songs played across the radio/in movies, pop culture status, etc for the last 45 years?Grand Final day is the best shot the AFL has at recruiting new audiences.
Those new audiences aren't going to be in their 60s.
No one starts following a new sports code in their 60s.
So not only are Kiss an objectively s**t band, with a frontman who's a noted Islamophobe and who had to pay out a woman he sexually molested a few years ago, but having them perform at the MCG will do nothing at all to help with the expansion of our sport.
Objectively shit as is in there has been no longevity to their record sales or critical appraisal.Objectively s**t as in released a ton of albums, sold a ton of records, had a ton of fans at concerts and had a ton of songs played across the radio/in movies, pop culture status, etc for the last 45 years?
You might not like them, but objectively they're pretty successful....
The other stuff might be a valid criticism, I'm not aware of it, but you can't pot their music because you don't like it.
I think it's subjective. Passing fad isn't quite right for music still played in 2023.Objectively s**t as is in there has been no longevity to their record sales or critical appraisal.
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles continue to sell extremely well because they continue to be valued by new generations.
Kiss were a passing fad in the late 70s and have since devolved into a nostalgia act for those who remember those years because their music was never particularly good.
If you're suggesting that the AFL should get 100 thousand people to perform a séance to enact a collaboration between Genesis P Orridge, Captain Beefheart and Ornette Coleman from the afterworld, yes, I would 100% be down with that.i would have preferred the afl chose any of Merzbow, Boredoms, Gerogerigegege, Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Whitehouse, Nurse with Wound, Einstürzende Neubauten, Brainbombs, Egor Letov, Death in June, Current 93, La Monte Young, Moondog, Lou Harrison, Henry Cowell, Luigi Russolo, Popol Vuh, Fishmans, Jean Jacques Perrey, Les Rallizes Dénudés, Rainbow Caroliner, Taj Mahal Travellers, Fushitsusha, Peter Brötzmann, John Cage, Scott Walker, Unwound, Dead, Frank Zappa, Morton Feldman, Captain Beefheart, Pharoah Sanders, Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Arnold Schoenberg, Pierre Boulez, György Ligeti, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Nang Nang, Thinking Fellers Union Local 282, Nara Leão, Basic Channel, Raymond Scott, Delia Derbyshire, Daphne Oram, Noah Howard, Terry Riley, Peter Sotos, Lula Côrtes e Zé Ramalho, Boyd Rice, Mahmoud Ahmed, Henry Flynt, Kazumoto Endo, David Tudor, Aporea, Half Japanese, Mega Banton, Secret Chiefs 3, Keiji Haino, Ramleh, Otomo Yoshihide, John Zorn, Joe Meek, Robbie Basho, Phil Spector, Faxed Head, Harry Partch, Wesley Willis, Fred Frith, The Residents, Sun Ra, Sun City Girls, Hans Krüsi, Royal Trux, Jandek, Yat-Kha, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Pärson Sound, The Dead C, Comus, Cromagnon, Eliane Radigue, Arthur Doyle, Shizuka, The Red Krayola, Henry Cow, Magma, Opus Avantra, Pan.Thy.Monium., Murmuüre, Ksiezyc, Gong, Cukor Bila Smert', cLOUDDEAD, Muslimgauze or Kaoru Abe
