How did you rate the eagles picks? was pretty happy with what they did

I like West Coast's selections. Partington and Cole particularly are excellent choices and represent strong value. Partington as a high production well rounded mid with good pace and skills. And Cole as more a high production versatile type.

Who's the cute chick with the tall dude in your avatar?

I like to call her Ellen

Not a chance. I'd take Burton, Lovell and Hardwick (power and skill) over McKay, Clarke, Hibberd, Wagner and Mountford (solid contributers) any day of the week and twice on Weekends. The Hawks picks could help them to a GF in a few yeas, NM's picks only to the 8.

For mine Carlton, not surprisingly, got the most out of their picks as did Melbourne, Freo and Brisbane. GWS, Swans and St Kilda were par for the course. Richmond's Rioli seems to me to be more a wingman when people say they need a small forward. Essendon needed a quality KPF, Fiorini to GCS must have been on a needs-basis, West Coast's Partington & Cole are at best solid, while Adelaide made a Doedee by not taking Burton.
Hawks came in 4th on my scale and NM much lower.

Disagree, hawks did well but north got steals, filled needs and got good young players for the future.

Suprised as any bonner was avaliable at our pick. As he didnt do any testing at the combine due to his foot do you know anything about his athletic standpoints eg previous 20m sprints beep tests etc. he looks to be quite agile aswell

Schache, Hipwood, Keays, Mathieson & Skinner.

A dream draft for the Lions, Knightmare?

How come Mathieson went so low?
Agree Brisbane brained it from what I can tell. I didn't even think you would have points left to go for Mathieson & Skinner.

What about Murtimer and Allan mate?

Pretty gutted we chose Gresham over balic, what do you predict greshams afl career to look like and do you think it is a good selection? Cheers

Gresham is a handy small midfielder. High production and moves well so he can be a component to a team without being a star or someone who will not do tremendous damage as I'd say of Lewis Taylor for Brisbane.

Balic sliding like that was a real surprise but he has some developing to do, whereas Gresham is year one, round one ready to play which is the advantage with that selection.

Bonner's old testing results don't from 2014 were solid overall. He probably would this year be around that 3 second mark over 20m. Agility good and endurance solid. For a relatively tallish type his movement is particularly impressive and while not freakish still good on the track.

Good value selection in the 30s and another weapon type Port Adelaide may have a shot at developing.

Skinner rated a top 10 pick if he wasn't injured by a draft guru. What are his traits? plays like?

Cheers.

Skinner has height and size. Good endurance (though neither super quick nor super agile). Not dominant but very good contested mark. So there are some attributes. As for had he not gotten injured I'd expect he would have featured in the 15-35 range.

Mutimer is suitable as a late draft choice and has good pace and can kick long, so that's something that can be worked with. Allen as a key forward while he has been productive enough for me lacks that point of difference to be someone I'd look at drafting, and as a key forward, unless you're a star which Allen isn't, good luck.

Do you think Menegola would have been a better choice?

Do you think Menegola would have been a better choice?

Menegola would offer greater immediacy of impact certainly through the midfield.

Based on my power rankings I would have taken Tom Phillips ahead of Mutimer (went the following selection to Collingwood) and after that there were a few key defenders with Menegola after a few available key defenders (Coughlan and Hartley) that next player on my personal draft board.

If you'd taken Bonner and Balic you would have been the clear winner of the draft

I would have said that of Hibberd and R.Clarke.

But the fact that we're coming up with completely different names (and failing to mentioned Mathieson at that) is just evidence of how many really good players fell, and that happens when some clubs make some surprise selections.

Hey Knight, quick question do you think Gold Coast picked well? Personally I'm not to sure about some of the selections but I'll see what you say before I form an opionon.

Knightmare, Could you in the next week possibly add a profile on Tom Doedee? There isn't really much to be found on him, he's a 187cm defender and I, like many on BF am bloody flabergasted! AFC obviously rate him and think he can move into the midfield like a Pendelbury type from what I've read, but we need more. Do you have one?
