He averages 48 in Tests and 38 in ODI while having 3 200's to his name.

Smith and Clarke are not even in the same league.

Why are we comparing Pietersen and Smith. It is an apples an oranges affair. One is an opener and one is a middle order batter. I think at them moment I would have Smith because he has a pretty good record apart from last summer against us. Pietersen may overtake him eventually though. I think Smith of late seems to be a bit of a kamikaze batsman and needs to start building innings more. Pietersen seems to be becoming a more mature batsman with more exposure to top international cricket.

I dont get on Clarke. Infact I defend him. Should bat at 6 in our test side.

Muppet has technical problems, which is widely acknowledged. Both use too much bottom-hand ; both favour the legside too much. Mupp very vulnerable to inswing and constantly out LBW due to lack of footwork.
