Really who can we use Hughes is right now our No 1 option, believe it or not.

Dean Putt i can see as a really good player at 203 cm he is very athletic and good below hs knees if he can bulk up a bit more have a good pre season i reckon he has a chance next year to play.

Gouridis dont know much about him but apparantly very quick (didnt he get a really low 20m sprint time) and could be a option.

Besides them we could develop Pattison but he looks to slow but you never know.

Post looks like a really good player but i like him in the backline with Thursfield, Rance and McGuane.

Now the draft Butcher, we could get him you never know but unlikey if melboure takes trengrove and not him, he is ours coz wce and fro will proberly take Lucas and Moribato. Ben Griffiths and Jake Carlisle look like good options possibly with our 2nd rounder and Panos will proberly be some where between 6-12 so out of our reach.

Any1 know of any other guys we could use up foward?

I think we must make Post a forward. Thursty, Mcguane and Rance is more than enough quality tall defenders. I still have a fair bit of hope for Hughes. We looked really promising with Hughes and Rewioldt up forward. I think once he gets out of his rough trot off the field he'll come good. Would love him to kick 5 for Coburg and get him back into the Richmond side. To anyone who thinks he's not good enough, that's a load of garbage . He kicked about 25 goals in the first half of Coburgs season(about 8 games) last year before making the Richmond team. Then he showed some great signs until the Polak accident. He also showed positive signs in 2007. The Polak accident has halted his progression for 6 months, but he'll get back on track again. I also think Polak can get back to his best too. He's improved his confidence over 6 months and is playing for Coburg 1sts. It's not like he has lost his talent, but his career has been halted for at least half a season and so has Hughes. They have what's required and will be back. just imagine they both had a 10 week injury and are working there way back now. Hughes, Polak and Putt must be told to make there move and get into the team

KPF's are totally reliant on the ball coming into them.

You need to learn to walk before you can run.

Our midfield is still fairly young if you excuse Cousins and Tuck. The speed the game is now going will only increase over the next few years and with proposed (& likely) interchange rule changes in a few more years you will never have too many midfielders.

Our backline is getting on the verge of being too tall against the smaller forwards now playing the game. Who is our Goddard, our Gilbert, our Drummond etc? These are the types of players our current KPF's need.

We have had a key forward for the last decade who couldn't get the ball delivered properly. To date I don't see that anything has changed. We have Gourdis, Putt, Hughes, Schulz, Riewoldt, Polak, Vickery, Post & Pattison all on our list. These blokes need developing or moving on.

Forget the KPF's in the draft as it will be atleast 2013/14 before the new 2009 KPF draftees will be able to compete against the stronger opposition backs and in the meantime our midfield will still be lacking.

Focus on building fast players running from the backline & midfield with good skills and you will be surprised how fast our current KPF's develop.:thumbsu:

And James Podsiadly kicked about 45 for Werribee in those same eight games!!!

Sorry guys, i just started a thread asking whether you would have any interest in Barry Hall as a KPF next year without realising this thread already existed.

If we get Carlisle with a 2nd round pick I'll be rapt.:thumbsu:

late developer carlisle.. great hands though.
not sure if he'd 'suit' richmond.. we all expect these boys to come on straight away but if you look at carlisle, hes very raw and skinny.
good obso. though :thumbsu:

lol very funny thread. feral delusion has no bounds.
imagine its 2012 and the only kpf left on the list is riewoldt and post. silly comment i hear you all say.
lets have a look at our kpfs.
richo aged 34 2012 dont think so will be lucky to last to 2010.
polak aged 25 very ordinary player coming of a brain injury will be gone this yr.
hughes just 22 4 yrs in our system and still in the thirds. dud.
pattison aged 23 so deficient one word sums him up. dud.
post aged 19 in early development .may end up down back may not make it.who knows
schulz aged 24 sheesh 7 yrs and still cant get a regular game what does this say. dud.
riewoldt aged 20 developing nicely so far thats maybe two.
gourdis aged 20 a rookie who can say which way it will go.

so looking at 2012 and maybe ,no certainties, we are looking at just 3 tall forwards of the current crop. one post is likely to play back and the other is a rookie who could go either way. great outlook that.

Pfft Riewoldt not a KPF, what a bunch of crap. Easily our best young KPF and one of the most promising in the league. Oh and go **** yourself Nathan Can't Pee.
Riewoldt and Morton would make good 2nd and 3rd forwards but not good primary ones. We need a Richo-esque forward. A good CHF. We also need a good CHB.
