Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

I also think he's a perfect example that should be shown to young players all over the country (and coaches) that just because you don't set the world on fire in your first couple of years, doesn't mean you can't make it. He didn't even debut until his was 22, didn't become a regular fixture in the side until he was 24, and didn't become the star he is today until he was 26.

So Tambling still has hope! Haha.

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

I remember reading:

"Can't run, can't kick, can't mark - but he's a gun."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Congrats.

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

This guy is the most overrated player in our league, WHO CARES!
Joking, he's an absolute gun. Good on ya Spock.

I was about to track you down to kill you. Thank goodness that's been avoided.

Champion player/Champion bloke who, sure, doesn't have the skills and speed of the greats of the comp but has incredible "intangibles", like leadership, courage and a ludicrously high pain barrier.

This is a very well written piece on Kirky that a fan of the Swans wrote. May or may not be that interesting to those from other clubs, but for any Swans fan who hasn't seen it, it is absolutely worth a look.

Are you a Sweagle?? It takes all types I guess.

Obviously being from Sydney you are a football ignoramous. Look at my teams and tell me who Chopsticks is.

Pity I lived in Melbourne for 13 years while I grew up. So don't put me in those bandwagon sydneysider's category.

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

Congrats to Kirk. Great effort to persist and get to 200 games after battling to crack a regular spot in the side at one stage

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

A player with such a lack of football skills and athleticism has no right forging such an amazing career out of nothing. It speaks volumes about the amount of determination and character he has.

I only hope our players can repay the great man for the number of times his guts, determination and leadership have single handedly dragged us over the line in clinch games. Kirky... You are a ****ing champion.

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

I'd say that Brett Kirk is better than anyone to ever pull on a Fremantle jumper.

Including the big Pav.

He isn't even a Freo supporter, he is just a pathetic troll, but that's a bit of a silly comment mate.

Congrats to Kirk, and luckily for Sydney he will be able to celebrate with a win, one of the toughest players in the last decade.

Re: Brett Kirk is set to play his 200th this weekend

Worst 200 gamer ever (!).
A. Rocca /end

Congrats to Kirk on the milestone. He's been a rock solid player for the Swans, and was a key reason they won a flag and contested for so long. Great leader, and a guy who has worked hard to get the most out of himself.

What's your point?

Irrelevant, pointless drivel.

What does Brett Kirk being the worst 200 game player have to do with Fremantle or Matthew Pavlich?

Go back to Bay 13.

Great generalisation, how about not ruining a tribute thread for one of the leagues most popular players. You obviously have nothing constructive to add, take your childish BS elsewhere.
