Kurt Tippett to the Swans? **UPDATE: Tippett requests trade to Sydney***

Another problem for Adelaide is that neither AFC or KT are in a position where reconciliation is possible. AFC's tone from the announcement has been one thing, but it seems evident that the relationship has been toxic for a while (ie. Kurt's text to team mates re: I'm leaving...), and since season end it seems irreparably damaged.

Unfortunately this puts Adelaide in an incredibly weak position. It's either whatever is offered in trade or nothing, and Kurt is leaving either way. Which is further reason why Adelaide will trade. They have to get something for him. It's Economics 101. Something (a pick and/or player) is better than nothing.

Well good for them. He'd be a great luxury to have, but we refuse to be bent over on the trade table on an uncontracted player. If the Crows want to play hardball and end up losing him for nothing, then that's their call. Have fun with Angus Graham as his replacement. :)

Bent over- Jesse White and 23 is fair is it?

I read the crows backed out of the deal friday, why dont they just piss or get off the pot, stop jerking us around and make a damn decision, this mismanagement is probably the cause of player retention problems.

If they want to send him to the draft go for it, we can get him in the national draft probably let alone the psd, either way it leaves our side in tact and just weakens the crows who probably become most likely of the top 4 sides to fall

Pick 23 would likely be nothing anyway. From what I've gathered most of the fans would prefer the PSD. (As I'm sure you would too) to help build a new reputation at the club and not just accept anything at the trade table as has been done in the past.

I think it achieves stuff all tbh, so will the crows forever be the team that lets players walk into the draft?
Wouldnt it be more productive to work with Tippett and get the best deal, sending him to draft is a nothing move, but if the crows are going to do it hurry up and do it, hardly a decisive action if it takes a month to do it

What would you suggest the Swans do genius? Give up players that we dont have so we can keep things "fair"? Get real mate, the bloke is uncontracted and the Swans are doing their best to pick him up for as little as possible, isnt that the premise of of trading, not giving more than you have to?

Keep telling yourself that - it would be funny if Adelaide ended up putting him into the PSD and Sydney end up getting Tippett for nothing then used pick 23 to draft a young player who developed into a Goodes(43)/Okeefe(56)/O'Loughlin(40). The crows reputation would be shot for a decade & everytime pick 23 played the Crows the commentators would remind the audience.

Personally myself the way AFC and the fans have reacted towards Tippett and now the Swans, I actually hope Tippett does put himself into the PSD (despite my inclination that stupidity should never be encouraged).

Will have to agree to disagree mate. Tippett has proved in his actions that he doesn't care at all about finding a good deal for Adelaide.

Shot to peices? Don't agree at all. Most of our supporters would be more so inclined that our reputation would be shot if we agreed to 23 and White. And I'm positive most of the football public would respect us more for sending him to the PSD then accepting the proposed deal.

What happens if he does get to sydney in the psd? Surely that would look rather foolish for Adelaide

Maybe to some. But I think to the majority it would still show to our supporters that we have some backbone and wont allow uncontracted players to mess us around and show other clubs that we wont be bent over a barrel with our players and accept 'just anything' for our best players. It would help prevent our big players being targeted when they are coming out of contract as well. If we accepted the proposed deal we would be laughed at by the competition and there would likely be a huge supporter backlash.

Pride always leads to foolish decisions history is littered with examples - its clear when you go through the draft lists that there is plenty of quality after pick 23 and my take on it is it is more to do with the club than the position in the draft.

The supporters wont give a rats if the 23rd draft pick is a winner - really short term thinking by the fans, which sort of gives an insight to why you are loosing good players.

You know what would be even more useful in getting good value in trades. Maintaining good relations with the player instead of having the football club and fans abuse him at every opportunity. He might still leave but he might be much more prepared to work with the club to get a good result. I get the feeling that any relationship between Tippett and AFC were shattered beyond repair long before Sydney got involved. Now, Tippett is just giving the middle finger to AFC by nominating Sydney.

Lol at the Adelaide board, they're claiming we need Tippett now to win the flag.

Oh I can't wait to get him for free.

Adelaide then must need the 2013 draw to be GWS,GC,Melbourne,WB,PA,BL twice to make the 4 - I honestly hope the club managment haven't lost the plot as the way its going there 2013 season is going to be trashed over as issue that they have known about for 3 years.

haha, I just had a quick read through and this particulary amused me

Sydney MGMT are all in, it's their Achilles heal. We're not they will come to us.

Completely ignoring that 23 and steak knives is all in.

Just a quick update, from what my source understands Sydney are expecting Adelaide to take pick 23 still.
However my source also believes GWS are bluffing completely at any talk of PSD, due to Kurt's ability to specify a back ended contract.

From his understanding (keep in mind he is in neither the Swans or Adelaide camp) the situation has still not really changed since Tuesday
Adelaide dragging it out longer than they were expected to, no 3rd party has been engaged or spoken with.

Hmmmm, had to go and have a read of what all the commotion was about ..

Great place that Adelaide board, try to reason or hold a conversation with them and they berate you and start name calling ... just like spoilt children.

Now I know why Kurt wants outta Adelaide ... such a friendly place.

This has been gone over so many times here and on the main board that it must have been near on impossible for you to have missed the reason why the Swans have money next year. You actually have to be a ****. Are you?

Yep, all class on this board for visitors.

Watch for falling glass.
