Played at all of them Sorry Sir!

Wrong! Never signed a permit, registration, contract of ANY sort at Tally! Anyway time to give it a break bud..... You given this way to much airtime & honestly who cares what clubs I've played for? How does that affect your day to day life? How many club's has Cupido played at? Probably double?? & he's only been in the country footy system half the time as me? Are you going to start potting him? Nah cause you're a hypocrite..... Move on bud, come say hi next year when we play? If ya got the plums.....
Bye 👍🏽

Girgarre have continued to do quite well without recent success. A very well lead committee that has hurdles that other clubs aren’t exposed to, their proximity to Stanhope, Merrigum and Lancaster would be a challenge to attract players from Ky. Lancaster and Stanhope have been perennial finalists for as long as I can remember, and Merrigum’s resurgence since about 2012 has them regular finalists across a decade.

That has left Girgarre in a bit of a spot, they have worked to build a relationship with the Echuca/Moama community, rather than just Kyabram and Tongala. This tied in with the shifting sands of the industry in the town would have been hard to manage.

They’ve also built up their U18s quite nicely too. With Ky, Tonny and Echuca being toward the top of the ladder, it shows that the area is doing some good things for the sport in general.

With the efforts put in by the Girgarre community they have a stable club that would dearly like some success in the Seniors, but that is not the only metric to measure a club by.

Which to me makes the appointment of a bloke like Cupido as coach even more baffling

Grass I was a registered member of Gig at one stage and made the choice predominately due to the clubs prior relationship with a club , I was then playing with. For mine the issue with GiG is the every changing direction , which isn’t likely to be helped now with the points system . I truly enjoyed my time at the club and everyone was very welcoming .
IIRC Gig hasn’t won a flag since Stanhope joined the KDFNL??

Lawrie Casey got us to the Finals in 96 and George T in 01 but it's been dry around that since the last Flag in 91. But we've been more competitive in recent years and hopefully a finals berth is just around the corner despite Brownsnakes prediction of us not being in the top 9.

Same old talk every year isn't it?

It will continue to be a discussion until improvements are made on the field.

Since being reinstated to the league, they’ve had a good crack at it without much success, but to my knowledge have remained financial with the league. Sadly the two seasons that they’ve had to prove themselves have been impacted by season shutdowns.

The appointment of Shane Crawford didn’t net the players that we’d all hoped would jump on board. It would be a tough proposition to try to recruit players for 2022.

I did see the committee running the Bunnings sausage sizzle a few weeks back, so there are still active members who are putting in the work behind the scenes.

Yep the timing of Covid blunted many of the possible positive steps forward to secure a future. Must be frustrating for the hard working crew who came up with this initiative…. like trying to grasp a handful of golden sand with open fingers.

There’s no doubt both these sides will be big improvers in 2022 and the same can be said about Stanny - Murch- gig - rushy maybe Vt The gum will be there abouts also Lancy may slide a little with their losses but they will work hard with recruiting to replace them Avenel and Nagambie are finals certainties So looking real good for next season Just can’t wait for a normal COVID Free season
