Went down for a look at the Hoppers training the other day - Look to have a fair few new faces.

Foley loves making them boys run going from previous sessions I've watched.

McDonald-Tipungwuti supposedly making an appearance for them in the early new year, wonder how many if any games he will play this coming season, great bolster for league attendances if he does get on the park for them which I am told they're somehwhat confident it will happen.


How're the other teams looking numbers wise on the track this early on ?

You are certainly coming across as a murch player Nate and that’s great but mate where are you getting this so called info on Tipungwuti mate you are either just making this crap up or the 2 prominent Murch people that are heavily tied with the club that I’m close to are strangely kept in the dark !!!
But you are correct with the new faces and big numbers at training and will certainly will be the side to beat again in 2025

Seriously can’t see anyone coming close to Murch again? Shep east, lancy an nag all lost good players have picked up a few each but the players they’ve picked up aren’t good enough to fill the holes of what they’ve lost I believe.
VT will be up there abouts an will be a bit unknown as if everyone’s playing an fit in there team I think it’ll be them in Murch playing off but you never know when you recruits blokes who are over 35+ very injury prone but time will tell!

Violet Town are coming from a long way back remember... finished 2nd last with a % of 20. Granted they’ve recruited well but grand final?
Unless of course JD can kick it to himself, then handball to himself then kick the goal on every 2nd play. Then who knows.

He did that in the 2s for Euroa every week, can’t see that changing , when he plays for Vt.. kick out from full back get handball, kick to centre get handball, deliver to forward get back then goal

Think it’s between Murch and Lancy with Nagambie and VT behind them. Lancy have picked up well, probably in a similar position to last year. Murch still the team to beat but don’t think that gap is as big as people expect

Indications were only Merrigum a definite no in 18s but are having a crack at 15s
and Lancaster and Girgarre only definite no's for 15s

Mcnamara medal and Leading the Goalkciking: James Lloyd, feel the difference between top and bottom sides will be larger then previous few years, meaning big Lloydy will have a field day most weeks and take these awards home
Shepp east will be the sliders for me, lost some quality, Lanky I have a question mark over if they can make top 4 but they continue to prove people wrong so i wont be suprised if they make top 4, VT will be main improvers, definetely will be in finals contention, good mixture of young and old, I also have hope for Rushworth, even if they dont make finals, i see them winning 7-8 games and continuing their rebuild in senior footy which is great to see in the KDL

Improvers: VT is the obvious one IMO but I also agree that Rushy may surprise a few teams this year, might not play finals but should challenge those fringe type teams.

Overall it should be a great year of KDL footy. Can't wait!

Be good to see Rushworth stringing together a few wins. Be good to see them and Longwood play finals one day! How are they looking this year?

The gap between best and worst will increase to a greater margin then ever before. Murch twos would beat a fair few of the ones teams going around..

Overall in regards to sustained competitiveness we've only seen Girgarre and Longwood go without in the Senior ranks of late. Avenel do have a long Senior premiership drought (1994), but had some serious bites of the cherry in the last decade without taking the final step. The wheel does seem to turn in the KDL and other than Nagambie's 4 flags in 6 years (and 5 in 10 years), it has been quite an even spread. Excluding Longwood and Girgarre, all clubs have experienced a Senior Grand Final since 2010.

Girgarre will be buoyed by the A Grade netball flag, which demonstrates that their community is on the right path. Longwood also had their highest place finish last season since joining the KDL and I feel will improve again.

Milne going B2B in league medals would be a huge feat, especially that he has a fair few pinching votes from him - but probably warranted.

Simpson, Dohsi, Mackrill all good chances.

Interesting to see how returning player Tom Davies goes along with JD Hayes (pending amounts of games played).

Leading goal kicker will be James Lloyd's to lose.

Also interested to see which teams will improve.
