Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

Thanks for the one star rating Occa. Were finally back at 2 stars... Let's keep it that way for Hodgey.

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

LOL I love how Dawks fans are all like, 'I'm cheerin my team in the Grand Final this week what are you doing?'

Like they really have a ****ing chance. Remember last year you dawk morons? People were all over PA to win based on shit said during the week and the PF's. Would not be suprised to see another 100 point belting in favor of Geelong.

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

Luke Hodge doesnt need Brownlow votes to prove he is a star, fools.

He plays in defence and rarely racks up over 25 possesions, thats what you need to do to pick up votes in the Brownlow. Shit thread.
So is Tom Harley, he got 7 votes and he rarely gets more than 20 disposals. Just shows you what a real defender can achieve.

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

Correct me if im wrong.

But didnt Hodge break his ribs and yet, play on throughout the game and WILL scrub up next week in a Grand Final. While Judd is on 1.2 million a year so that when he gets a knock on his head he can have a cry and miss the next week of footy?

I know who i'd rather have in my team, and its definatley not Judd. :thumbsu:

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

votes only go to media darlings like Goodes and Harvey. The umpires clearly don't like Hodge. When they only gave 1 vote to hodge in the rd22 carlton game where he was CLEARLY BOG, and gave marc murphy 2 votes in a losing side, you know they just don't like the hodge. Just proves that awards don't mean that much anymore.

Harley led the league in marks from opposition kicks so has some basis for arguing his elite status. His judgement & ability to read the play is undeniable.

Hodge would be an elite midfielder if he played there - instead he plays a loose man in defence with such prominent past & current compatriots as Joel Bowden, Jordan McMahon, Rhyce Shaw & Jason Cloke.

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

So what can we expect from the superstar number 1 draft pick this week? 20 cheap uncontested touches?

Name Total Pos Uncontested D50 Pos Ud50 %
Harvey 405 187 46%
Ablett 402 170 42%
Hodge 259 113 43%
Judd 357 158 44%

Speaking on uncontested possessions in the Defensive 50 . . . Duddles is right up there.

Yes thats true, Judd did miss the next game suffering a mild headache.
Oh dear...... 1.2 mill for an overatted heartless footballer thats well past his best. :) :thumbsu:

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

For all you guys who rate how good a player is by how many votes the umpires give him just reminds me how stupid and what a lack of football knowledge you all have. Dare I remind the Carlton supporters of 1999. Brownlow favourite- Koudafidies
Brownlow winner- Woewoden.............So Woey was the better player yeah???

As for the Judd and Hodge debate I would take Hodge.......Judd is looked after by all his team mates and he might aswell give the umpires a bj.

Re: People who polled higher than L.Hodge in the Brownlow

My God - irrefutable statistical proof that Hodge is shit!

We Hawthorn supporters need to wake up to ourselves......

about time...the smaller version of Jason Cloke is so overated its not funny.

if only i was allowed to be a loose half back racking up meaningless stats and having no accountability ... i too could be worshiped by inbred half brains

hodge is a poor mans jason cloke...and even he got found out in GF's

Hodge is not an extra man in defence. He just runs off his man time and again to go to the ball. That's just smart play. And he gets plenty of contested ball as well as uncontested, stop making shit up.

Re: L. Hodge............. 2 votes.

TRIPLE premiership star Nigel Lappin has backed Luke Hodge to play with pain and be a key member of Hawthorn's quest for Grand Final glory.

Hodge's courage under fire against St Kilda on Saturday night brought back memories of Lappin's bravery during the Brisbane Lions' 2003 finals series.

Lappin said Hodge would cope with the pain.

"He's the most skilful player in the competition and probably the most courageous and that was just reaffirmed to me on Saturday night," Lappin said.

Lappin said Hodge's effort against the Saints would motivate the Hawks this week.

"For him to stay on the ground and still play a pivotal role was the stuff that wins teams premierships," he said.

"He was a braver man than me and there was no way I could continue against the Swans. I sat there on Saturday night and, as a footy fan, seeing that raw courage was just incredible."

And I love when we pump teams by 10 goals and they come back with "Oh yeah? Well you won't beat Geelong." The Saints fans were full of it on Saturday night at the G too. It really must be a miserable existence as a football supporter when you have to rely on other clubs to beat your enemies for you. "Yes, we're rubbish, but there is another club out there that might beat you!"
