In the question of conspiracy versus incompetence, incompetence wins nearly every time. Throw in a generous serving of ideology and what could possibly go wrong?Gavin "LA 2.0" Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass have proven unquestionably what incompetence really means. LA will never be the same again, but i don't think hair gel Gav minds that one bit? The whole thing is suspicious as hell and i suspect there is a lot more on this story to come?
They've just moved onto other grief pawn....Watched the news tonight.
Didn't see one thing on the LA fires.

Funny one climate denialist.More arsonists arrested and of course this goes against the Climate Change narrative that "Dancing Gavin" would have you believe. These fires now appear to be strategically lit all around the mountainous area surrounding LA, the place was a small Spanish settlement in the 18th and 19th century. The desert is not far away either. It's always been a dry and rather hot place and not much happened there until the railway line from Chicago was completed in 1885, the joint still had lots of dirt roads at the time Chaplin was making movies! In the early days it was inhabited by Native Americans and Spanish/Mexican settlers with a modest population of approximately 300,000 by 1910. It wasn't until the roaring Twenties and the Golden Age of Hollywood in the Thirties which followed that made LA what it is today. All those Westerns we watched as kids were all made just over those mountains less than 10 -15 km from Sunset Boulevard!
The insane California policies contributed as much as anything else to this catastrophe. This was a disaster just waiting to happen!
The infrastructure failed miserably and the government knew only to well that 90% of the previous fires in the LA area were caused by human failure, be it deliberate arson or infrastructure failure. The post mortem from all of this will expose more than just a neglectful government. But hey, let's just blame the climate and nobody will go to jail?
Yeah I guess the catastrophic winds and decade long drought played no part in the fires.More arsonists arrested and of course this goes against the Climate Change narrative
Yeah I guess the catastrophic winds and decade long drought played no part in the fires.
Arsonists have been known to listen to weather reports. Favourable conditions for fires brings them out.Yeah I guess the catastrophic winds and decade long drought played no part in the fires.
It's sort of amazing how much history Los Angeles has built in such a short existence, mostly thanks to how good the movie industry has been at ingraining images into the cultural unconsciousness. It's a weird place, but i knew that going in. I worked there in the 90s, and I thought that I was ready for it. I thought I'd been prepared for the worst, most surreal aspects of Tinseltown, because I've seen more movies about L.A. than I have dumb buddy cop comedy films.
It has its own charm for sure. Most American cities downtown area would be the place to be but downtown Los Angeles is as run down and dodgy as any city in the country.
How many wake up calls about climate change do the selfish ignoramus people of America need?
I couldn't believe how run down and dodgy Hollywood was, apart from the tourist walk of fame area there it was an awful shithole.
I thought all the big Hollywood stars would live in Hollywood, none of them live there, they all live in the Palisades and in Malibu.
They probably wish they lived in Hollywood now as it's still standing while the Palisades and Malibu have been burnt to the ground.
If all of the focus is incorrectly being applied to a single person or people for political gain, then the actual failings and problems will never be identified and corrected for in the future.
What needs to happen, is to find out what the actual failures were... in order to ensure they either don't happen again, or are reduced.
We need to support actual investigations into finding out what went wrong, and who if anyone is to blame.
Because if there are people who have done the wrong thing then all this distraction, anti-DEI bullshit will ensure that they get away with it, and that this will happen again.
The people who have lost their lives and homes, will never get justice.
The climate hasn't changed that much in Southern California, it's always been very dry there with very little rain.
Albert Hammond was singing about it back in 1973, he tried to warn ya.
LA should have been better prepared for this wildfire disaster and the lack of preparation has to lie with their Democrat leaders.
Just ask Dennis Quaid, he lives there and he played a firefighter in Frequency so I think he might know what he is talking about.
