I'dprefer Gumbleton, Personally I rekon he's going to be an absolute star and his injury luck could change at a new club. He's shown more Potential than Hansen and would probably come cheeper as well ... 4 me Gumbleton over Hansen every day of the wk

Would prefer Hansen. At least we know he will be on the park most weeks. If other clubs are chasing Gumbleton the price we pay for an injury prone player will get too high. Hansen may not dominate but he will make a contest and draw a good defender. If we traded our first rounder for him I wouldn't be too disappointed, given we are a chance to give the flag a shake next year if things fall our way.

We already have make contests and draw good defenders, why throw a 1st rd pick for another rotation for Kepler & Clarke? He has nothing that would see him hold his place in front of these guys definitively, and then we'd also have no 1st rounder. We've just gone backwards 10 years in freo trading history.

Yeh, if Clarke stopped dropping the ball we wouldn't need another option. Kep I see as good depth. Hansen I would see as best 22. Nothing like 10 years ago. 10 years ago we would of traded our first and second rounder and Lachie Neale for Potato Dawes.

Remember our first rounder will be about 18 they say. A few years ago that would of been early second round for a kpf that should be hitting his prime.

Hansen is at least a genuine size. McGovern is shorter than Michael Barlow.

I wouldn't trust the heights given on the AFL sites. I've played against McGovern and would have to say he is very tall, with a great armspan. Even watching him during the NAB cup I thought he was similar in height to Josh Kennedy, who seems an ideal height for a KPF.

clarke is a carbon copy of troy simmonds IMO. will be a ruckman not a forward

Herald Sun today said we were 1 of 3 clubs looking at Hansen. Hope not also, prefer Gumbleton. Also said Tate Pears had no bites, he's similar to Silvani so we don't need but I think he's not dissimilar to Alex Rance when fit

Let's hope the only carbon copy is that they both prefer to play as rucks.

Despite being 7cm taller Zac is quicker, more coordinated, has a better tank and can actually bend down to pick up the ball.

Well that's because he's usually already dropped the bloody thing to start with!

and Barlow is a mere single cm shorter than Pav haha

I do see your point though - Hansen is almost at the 200cm mark and if another option is less than 190 that's a bit of a considerable difference in height for a defender to have to deal with

If Hansen can fill the role and doesn't want heaps of $$ he might be worth a look in - would need to be a damn good trade deal to keep me happy though

Hansen is the KPP I would chase even if he cost our first rounder.

Pick 16 (which will probly turn into pick 17 after Goddard compo) isn't that great a pick, I'm not really convinced this is a great draft, Hansen is 24 and has played some pretty reasonable patches of football without setting the world on fire and but can play at both ends. We should have done this with Clark last year but now I think Hansen is our best option.

I have no faith in Gumby. Even if he came cheap but apart from that I think it's just throwing away draft picks. Essendon know him better than anyone and even they have lost their faith he's simply not going to last the distance. Hansen is a much better option and I think we should pull the trigger.

Why not get both Hansen and Gumbleton with second and third round picks plus whatever steak knives we have to throw in (Ibbo/Roberton)?

This.

Not sure about getting rid of Ibbo, but a combination of Roberton/2nd/3rd round picks, even some upgrades if need be, might come close to it. Neither player would cost all that much surely. Pick up a KPP with our first pick on top of those two and we pretty much sort our future KPP issues in one swing.
