Laidley and Hay are about usefull as each other.

He should get the chop fancy taking off the only bloke who looked like kicking a goal.

I bloody tipped the Roos........Well done Laidley you knob.

Not to mention benching Hale let the Dees back into it.
That's a very good point.

But the answer is the same to both terrible coaching questions.

Petrie.

Nobody but Laidley knows why.

And lets be honest the dude has space to rent in his head so I'm not entirely sure 'Tunnel' (appropriate nickname btw, could be used to describe what he has inside his head) knows what he was doing either.

Gretel Killeen (yep. totally random name) would make a better AFL coach.

MMM think that Thompson took himself off. Kept saying he (thompson) had to dig deep and show some heart. May not be DL's fault.

Looked like Thompson was pretty keen to get back on.

Just picked this up from the North board:

-------
In case noone heard it, thommo just said on MMM that he was the one who brought himself off because he was buggered, "didnt want to be the one who cost us the game".
---------

Very interesting.

Re: Was Thompson injured in the last minutes of the game?

There is a report from MMM that he took himself off.

He said something along the lines of "I was buggered & I didn't want to cost us the game"

Well that is :D:D:D:D weak, he is an elite footballer and a senior player. He needs to stand up when the heat is on. No onder the dawks let him go. SOFT.

Pretty poor effort. He was the one who kept them in it for crying out loud.

I tend to agree, and have a few concerns that he did it, but without seeing exactly how much work he put in leading up to going off (which kept us in with a chance in the game) I'm not going to be too critical.

Having watched the game that makes sense to me. There was a passage of play on the wing where he chased Carroll down and he did look knackered immediately after that.

It was pretty weak given we are not talking about the third quarter, a couple of minutes left in the game. Had to dig deep. I can't blame him because he didn't want to cost the game because he couldn't run, Laidley should have have sent him back or at worst case scenario put Sav there.

A combination of poor coaching and a heart muscle.

Given it happened with only a couple of minutes left meant there wasn't much Laidley could have done. Thompson came off and signalled for Petrie to take his spot, coached wouldn't have known what was going on until he got to the bench. They tried to get him back on a bit after but it was too late.

My main problem was that Sav didn't go to FF from the bench.
