And gee Pharro I wait for the day when someone takes a libel suit out on something said on here. The bulltish flows all day pal. Thank you officer in charge of the thought Police.

We can give it a run Seth, test the laws, set a precedent. I've got a great lawyer. How much are you worth?

Flag Man, stop trying to justify what was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. Thompson should have stayed out there. If he was adamant about coming off, I think a bloke that has kicked 700+ goals should have gone on, Sav Rocca.

Dan26, what you've said is 100% spot on.

A couple of points - Sav was not on song yesterday. Petrie was taking more marks. That Petrie failed on two difficult attempts makes hindsight an easy means to criticise the choice. Secondly, Thompson claims he was cramping. I don't know if that's for real or not, but have you ever had a muscle cramp?

No apparently it was "Thomos decision:" to walk off, fair enough he's good, but a player like Thompson will never get you a premiership. The guy has a heart the size of a Pea! As for Hay he is still a decent player in one on ones, but two first round picks you joking mate. Surely u would take that trade back.

It would be great if Hawthorn gave North two first round draft picks to return Hay, particularly considering that North never gave Hawthorn two first round draft picks in the first place. But I guess that would be a pesky fact getting in the way of an urban myth.

Makes no difference to the Hawks as we have run out of old crabs to give them for 1st round draft picks...........

hang on

...they might want Mathew Ball for pick 3 overall (Norf prioity 1, Carlton prioity 2)

yes, lets hope its an early tank

I actually saw a little of the game today and the frightening turnovers from Hay's understudy Zac Dawson. Please don't offer him up this year.

Dawson played his sixth game today and has been improving since Rocca took him to the cleaners in Rd 2. Disposal and decision making not the best yet, but I'd rather have Dawson - several years younger - than Hay in my backline.

Relevance?

If Dipper and Dermie hadn't fought through the pain threshold in the 89 GF, the Hawks wouldn't have won.

Mildly interesting comparison if only because it makes you wonder what would happen to a team in a GF in today's game with players of that ilk so badly wounded. I imagine they'd struggle. Wouldn't last the game out that's for sure.

Culture?

How dare you talk about culture.

Jim Krakour
Barry Cable
David Dench

Hypocritical. Every club has had their fair share of scum play for them

IMHO, Laidley made a move, it turned out to be a horrific mistake so he's blamed 'cramps' and is now hoping to hell that this blows over.

But you see here's the thing... you people are all registering disbelief that Laidley would be so stupid to take off the hot forward. Then when it is confirmed that Laidley didn't make the move, you are looking for a conspiracy. It's all getting a bit X-Files... looking for UFOs where a prosaic explanation is readily available.

Not that I'm defending anyone.

Simple fact remains, that for all the gloating that there has been and will be this week by Hawthorn supporters (they are happy and good luck to them, but they seem to want us to be miserable about it as well).

Yeah why is that? Why do Hawthorn people so desperately want North to fail for giving them what they regard as the trade of the century?

If you only just realised that Laidley was a crap coach and Nathan Thomson was mentally weak, you don't follow AFL footy.

Nathan Thompson's battles with depression have been widely reported yet still this post seems like a really low blow. Perhaps you might like to re-word it?

Just because he has depression, doesn't mean people have to tread on nails everytime they talk about him. Someone can be mentally weak without having a mental illness. How would you like him to word it?

Yes, apparently Mr Football kept the coathanger doctors working overtime.

And what was the real story surrounding Scott West?

Lol. Best you can come up with is Westy and Ted, don't think anything they have done could be compared to the three I mentioned.

But as I said "every club has their fair share of scum", never said the Dogs were any different. Pulling out what Ablett did and referring to Geelongs culture is ridiculous, plain stupidity on your behalf

Pulling out what Thompson did and referring to Norths culture is ridiculous andplain stupidity on Long bombs behalf, but I don't see you sharing your pearls of wisdom with him.

What was the real story surrounding Scott West?

Long Bomb was talking about something on the football field, not posting pictures of a dead persons family members. Bit different

West was accused of sleeping with a team mates missus, never ever proved. Again I'd say a bit different to what the above three were accused of of / convicted of

Didn't West come out and say at a club function something along the lines of being "ashamed at the man looking back at him in the mirror"?

BTW, I have taken the picture down that seems to offend you, feel free to do the same, if you wish.

LOL,really? Good ol' Mr Football used to take his other half to club functions while his wife sat at home. You're probably right about West, although those migraines can be very debilitating conditions.

It is just a diversionary tactic by Flag Man. Mick Malthouse would be proud.

I'm sure deep down he is very worried about a senior player leaving the field when the game was in the balance.
I damn well would be if it happened at my club.

Lol. And this is comparable to drug dealing, scamming millions and Barry Cable.

Anyway thats enough from me in this thread, it should be about Thommo walking off when the game was in the balance.

Yet another thread littered with posts from Flag Man and once again he's managed to say nothing interesting about the topic at hand.

Flag Man = lonely guy who has no friends, needs his Big Footy for human interaction and has nothing relevant to offer.

Yawwwwwwwwn....

The way Thompson was standing after being benched told me he wanted to be out there - except the coach didnt

This could be some sort of cover up

His depression had nothing to do with it. It's not like he thought, "I've played a blinder and we're still behind. God I'm depressed. I think I better drag myself".
