What are the chances of that happening? You needed a goal anyway. Who cares if Melbourne get one to increase their lead from 5 points to 11? They were in front anyway. If you're going to lose by 5, you might as well risk losing by 11, if it means you are a chance to win the game. It was all about North trying to "score" a goal, and your best goal kicker for the day was off the ground. You telling me Laidley couldn't find four other Kangaroo players who were more worthy of being benched?

Are you laughably trying to tell us that if Thompson was left on the ground, (after he had dominated throughout the game), that we'd all be "squawking" at how he should be benched if his opponent kicked a goal? lol
No one would even be talking about it, if he had been left on the ground, because it would have been assumed by everyone that he would have and should have been there all along.
