Best Midfielder.png

Our Best Midfielder this season is a player who truly embodies what it means to be a Bears on-baller. Chipmunk has not only dominated the stats sheet but also earned himself a spot in the All-SFA Team in the Centre position, proof that size doesn't matter when you've got skills and attitude to spare.

The numbers tell the story: leading the team in kicks, handballs, and marks, Chipmunk was everywhere this season. Though he only laid 17 tackles, understandable when you're built closer to the ground than most, he made up for it by somehow managing to give away the most free kicks in the team. I guess when you're chipmunk sized, every attempt to throw your weight around looks like a free kick to the umpires. Someone needs to tell him that "playing tough" doesn't mean collecting free kicks like they're nuts for winter!

Kicking 8.2 for the season, he's proven to be deadly accurate in front of goals too. And with a whopping 1,197 Dreamteam points, he's shown that the best things really do come in small packages.

Please put your hands together for our Best Midfielder, Chipmunk!

Best Defender.png

Our Best Defender award goes to a player who turned our half-back line into his personal playground this season. RookiePick might have "rookie" in his name, but there was nothing inexperienced about his play in Season 38.

Ranking 6th for kicks in the team, he provided more drive out of defense than a getaway driver at a bank heist. Sitting second in marks for the season, he made the Bears' defensive 50 feel like a black hole where opposition attacks went to die. He turned defending into an art form, making life miserable for forwards all season long.

His Dreamteam score topped all non-midfielders this season, proving that while defenders might not always get the glory, they certainly rack up the points when they're as reliable as Rookiepick.

Ladies and gentlemen, please give a round of applause for our Best Defender, Rookiepick!

Congratulations Chipmunk and RookiePick on your stellar seasons
RookiePick , if whatever the TFLUA became was nomination then vote rather than a league admin's sole call , you would've been our nomination and would've been a genuine chance- this is how dominant your comparative stats were

Top effort chaps! Now I know who to give the ball to if I've mucked up and gone near it.

Las Vegas Bears Hall of Fame Inductee - Broken New
Tonight, we honour a true Bears legend with induction into the prestigious Bears Hall of Fame.

Joining the ranks of our finest – Dingster , hilly, Matera92 , kane249, pantskyle, Art Vandelay_ , and JoshWoodenSpoon. We add another name to this exclusive group of club icons.

It is fair to say that the Las Vegas Bears would still be folded if it wasn't for Broken, who was instrumental in our relaunch and reintroduction into this league in Season 18. Broken went on to play 32 games for us during his initial stint and was our Season 24 Club Leading Goalkicker.

Not many people know that Broken revived our team a second time too, just in a less public way. Years later, when our team was struggling for posters, experience and stability for multiple reasons and was even at risk of folding (again), the captain and leadership group of the time spent months convincing him to come out of retirement. Broken's initial and seemingly final answer was no for very valid reasons, before he miraculously changed his mind on the eve of Season 31.

On field, Broken did the team thing and began the season at CHF whilst knowing that his sim impact would be limited as a result. Despite this, his enthusiasm never waned and his creativity, wit and humour shone through with his posting. Behind the scenes, Broken was all class with the perfect combination of experience, ideas and support. Over the following seasons, Broken returned to his rightful spot in the engine room as he resurrected his brilliant brokrah sweepstakes thread and had an enormous impact throughout the league.

Broken's retirement in Season 35 in his prime, after another top 10 beez finish, a Frankston Rover medal and another all-SFA selection, sent shockwaves around the unsuspecting competition. We suspected it might be coming after years of being a season-by-season proposition, but it still left an irreparable hole in our hearts. The decision to do so without putting up a media thread asking if he should retire (after the result of the other thread was a unanimous no) reflects how he thankfully left on his own terms, thereby coming out a true winner against the cruel sim.

Congratulations Broken on this long overdue honour. Words cannot do full justice to the impact you have had on our team and the legacy you have left behind. You are both instrumental and irreplaceable at the Bears, and we hope to see you back at Las Vegas someday if life allows.

The Pick!!!! Chippy!! Fantastic work out there, I've got to take a thing or two from your training regimes. Congrats on the gongs.

As a new observer to the Bears I have a slight recommendation. Don't run over the Sim's cat again.

Three times too much, you think?

Brokeydoke, one of my true Sweet idols. The League broadly may not always follow in your illustrious and playful image, but I hope you recognise a bit of that trademark spirit within the walls of the Bears. Yours is truly an unmistakable imprint on Bears qooty and culture, and it's about bloody time they found some room for you in the Hall - I blame Matera92's obscene amount of bean bags. Hope you and the Isotopes are doing well, congratulations to a Vegas legend!

Took the words right out of my mouth tony :D

Seriously Broken , words cannot express the impact you’ve had on the team and on my career , on and off the field . You’ve always had a copy of the keys but now you have your own entrance. Congrats

Thank you Broken for everything that you did for the Bears!!!

An absolute legend of the club and the league. One of the most creative people I have ever played with.

You arrived at the interval just when they were serving free drinks.

Perfect timing to me!

I was sitting in the team PM wondering when this thing was going to kick off

Some great things come in 3's. Like Neapolitan ice-cream, the Alvin and the Chipmunks trilogy, Quidditch posts... oh I've handed a note which reads "stop sucking up to the team".

But yeah driving forth and back and forth seems too repetitive for my tastes but ymmv.

There’s now 4 of those movies 😂

Welcome Ocha905 and spinynorman

You must be truly exceptional people to get through the stringent screening process after I blew every metric out of the window. High two digit IQ I was told.

I'd shower back to back if I was you. Especially when Testy is getting toey.

Dammit! This article lied to me!!

I'll be in contact with the teams lawyers to sue for misinformation.

At least there's more Alvin and the gang to look forward too!

I love how that article says no trousers as if it’s a bad thing, when it’s a prerequisite to the SFA!

Someone get on the blower to Luke Sayers. He'd fit right in.

I ticked YES next to the "Can you walk" and "Can you chew gum" questions and voila! I'm now in the most exclusive of qlubs.

Testy's been very friendly and welcoming whilst running laps in the "skinfold" group (I've come in a little overserved) at training... Now I know why so thanks!
