I don’t understand the timeline?
The death meal happened at lunch time and by nightfall they are presenting to hospital yet according to todays statement , she fed her children the same meal the next day with the mushrooms scraped off?
Or am I getting something wrong ?
She's taken in the story and has now made statements to answer all these questions.
Trouble with lies is the story to cover the story always brings more questions and needs more lies.
Either completely stupid or completely guilty..
Will end up being top dogs gofer.

Would just scraping the mushrooms off remove all the poison ? surely after cooking it would have leached into the beef and pastry.
I just think the police are going to let her sweat on this for a few days and let her incriminate herself. She's doing a pretty decent job of this already.

Reddit posters rightly claiming that the lack of massive mushroom recalls is very telling in this hot case.

That Australian agencies are usually very quick to act on serious public health matters like this.

That if the authorities believed the mushrooms were purchased in a shop, you probably wouldn't be able to buy dried mushrooms anywhere in Victoria, or anywhere in Australia right now.

It is now reported that Erin Patterson's statement came to Police via her lawyers.

I wonder whether her lawyers assisted her draft/edit it in any way?

'What Erin Patterson told police about fatal mushroom meal'

'August 14, 2023 - 9:33PM

It is believed homicide detectives did not take the statement from Ms Patterson, but her lawyers sent them a copy.

Duxelle! Could not for the life of me think of what it’s called (I referred to it as a paste earlier)
'Mushroom duxelles (pronounced duck-SELL) is an intensely flavored combination of finely chopped mushrooms, shallots, and fresh herbs such as thyme or parsley that are slowly cooked to a paste-like consistency. French in origin and named after the marquis d'Uxelles, this mushroom condiment is traditionally used in the preparation of beef Wellington, but it can also be used to flavor soups and sauces as well as to fill omelets and ravioli. It also happens to make for a delectable spread on crostini or toast points. Other creative uses include adding it as a flavor booster for mashed potatoes or mushroom-centric pasta dishes.'

'There is no classic Wellington without pâté. In our recipe, famous, earthy duxelle and pate make a mixture to encase the juicy tenderloin.'

Apparently, neither freezing, drying or cooking d reduces the toxicity of the mushrooms

The question of motive is a biggie

Yeah, supposedly she had all the assets and broke it off with him?

Only reason I can think of is not wanting anything to do with him as he was also invited? Maybe there’s some DV history or maybe even he is framing her to get all the assets. Seems bold to accuse her in hospital of poisoning them.

Retaining 100% of you assets is as “good” of a reason to kill as gaining 100% of someone else’s. But then why murder the rest of them? Could simply be malice, but it isn’t cut and dry.

I am starting to wonder if the ex is in on it too.

He gets her to take the fall, she’s in jail, he gets the kids and all the assets. He seems to gain the most from this situation.

Her IQ seems low and she apparently wanted to get back together with him so maybe she went along with it.
