Was the final high contact free kick to Shuey...

Its one of the great ambiguities in our game and helps remind us that in these days where everyone is polarising everything (except ice caps) things are hardly ever black and white.

The Shuey shrug would just be muscle memory from much training.
Don't expect there would have been much conscious thought involved.

I'd go as far as delisting Polec, he was clearly WC's best player, a muppet in fact.

Some fair old bookends for him.

Misses a gettable shot on the run in the first minute or so which could've given us a huge boost, gives away the free with seconds left.

Looked a legit player before he did his navicular in 2015 too.

But what about that time he let a red hot Jake Stringer kick two goals?

Can I change my vote to 'Incorrect, but consistent with other decisions'? Video that Coobk001 posted clearly shows why it shouldn't have been paid.

Yep it's wrong but they get paid all the time. They made a big noise about ignoring players who intentionally draw contact at the start of the year but like always it only lasted a month before we went back to the status quo.

Yeah it really doesn't matter, but it technically wasn't a free. There's no real debate on that. Anyone who says otherwise is actually just wrong. It's not opinion based, or interpretation, it's a clear fact.

If Joel Selwood won that free having done that the AFL world would be going nuts that he got away with 'ducking' as they call it.

As a supporter base though we're just all so broken from all our missed chances that I think our supporters just don't care and are fine to let it go even if it technically wasn't a free. I know I blame our loss on our misses, not the umps.

He had a stinker. Boak, Ryder, Wines, Wingard, Polec all below par. Gray didn't dominate. It was a credit to our less heralded players that we got so close.

FWIW I'm glad Polec is in the limelight. This will be a catalyst for him to work really hard on his defensive game over the preseason IMO.

He's a quintessential wingman.

You're not getting D out of him any more than you're getting any semblance of footy IQ into Impey.

Why? Cause a bloke slipped his arm up?

Polec gives plenty doing what he does. I'm happy with his current play. Every player has a stinker sometimes.

I actually don't care? If we are literally devastated about one poor/correct decision from an umpire after a loss against a team who barely scrapped through into the finals what's the point?

The point is to understand how we feel about it. We lost because that decision was paid. It's very relevant to the process of getting over what happened.
