Always find these stories of arrogance in a first year player dubious. Who (at pick 33) walks into a club featuring the likes of Deledio, Cotchin, Martin and Riewoldt and starts big-noting themselves? Certainly can't pick it from the media he's done thus far. Sounds like he;s a confident bloke and it's rubbed certain introverts the wrong way.
Mitch Thorpe...

Heard something similar, but nothing about a boxing match or getting knocked out. Just heard he got told to calm down and concentrate on playing.

and this ain't uncommon for a young kid playing for his fav team

Heard this from someone today...
McBean was told by his teammates when he first came to the club that he was way too arrogant, and that if he wanted to get a game, he had to get back in his place. When that didn't happen they made him get into a boxing match with Kingy who knocked him out.

This did not happen.

Not saying it's true about The Beanie, but trust me, it does happen.

Just saw his 6 goals from the weekend. This kid will be a seriously good player. Moves well, can take a grab and is an awesome kick for goal. Can't wait for his debut. Bring him in this week please Dimma.

Yeah he looks very clever on the lead, with his pace, arm lengths he should be hard to spoil on the lead. Really think he should get a run before finals. Starting to not look like a string bean either.

Most of those goals were mostly from marks on the lead. I think he'd get smashed at senior level at the moment, much like Gibson did to Daniher two weeks ago. If those highlights showed me anything, it's that Edwards is the next cab off the rank, Mcdonough and Lonergan if something opens up in the midfield.

Definitely exciting though.

In earlier games probably half of his goals were more Nahas like (at his best). If he can add size, and keep his pace and agility, the kid will be a freak, and a nightmare matchup. I have to admit, pre-draft I wasn't keen based on what I'd read (I.e. a 200cm+ kid who didn't really play ruck... didn't really excite me). But he's definitely not what I'd pictured based on pre-draft write ups.

As you say, very exciting!

but whoever was on him must've had a big one the night before, .
North Ballarat coach wanted him to study Mcbean on Saturday night.Poor kid didn,t hear the Mc bit and did what his coach asked of him.
