Realistically, this week against Brisbane and then GWS are the only opportunities to blood McBean.
Getting games into youngsters is key for development and there's never a perfect time to do it, but isn't Saturday as good as any so far this season?

The Big O wasn't exactly BOG against Hawthorn with a grand total of 2 disp and not much in the ruck, although he was subbed off when the rain hit.

So what do we lose if McBean plays instead of Big O? Maric should be able to handle Leuenberger.
McBean can play up forward alternating with McGuane doing some ruck work as well, then sub one of the Mc's off depending on performance and weather.

Heard this from someone today...
McBean was told by his teammates when he first came to the club that he was way too arrogant, and that if he wanted to get a game, he had to get back in his place. When that didn't happen they made him get into a boxing match with Kingy who knocked him out.

Beano v Kingy? Oh the money I'd pay to watch that spectacle.

Sorry Blaz find it hard to believe our club has such a wanky culture or that McBean is/ was arrogant.
It seems this someone sounds like a bullshit artist

confidence, perceived arrogance is not necessarily a bad thing. Remember JR was young natural confident player which players of genuine quality have like N Brown said at the time.

If it was genuine over the top arrogance obviously it that needs to be brought into line

McBean is 202cm and King is 178cm.
All I can imagine is McBean extending his arm to Jakes forehead and holding him away, while Jake swings wildly with both fists.

If that is ever a real boxing match it would be the greatest TFF fundraiser of all time.

Anyway, McBean to debut against Brisbane!

Heard something similar, but nothing about a boxing match or getting knocked out. Just heard he got told to calm down and concentrate on playing.

shouldn't get a game imo, this has been his best game all year, make him build on it and perhaps play gws. but he should be aiming to play all of the nab cup next year.

Should of kept at arms reach. It's not like Kingy can chase him while standing on a stool

I find it hard to believe the club would allow players to be knocking each other out in the ring. Sparring, sure. KOs are a different matter

Don't forget Joe Daniher - apparently a massive figjam- is his best mate and they grew up together. Being around what is basically Essendope's royal family and that kind of born & bred Bummer arrogance most of your life is bound to rub off.

I think Vickery and McBean should both come in this week. He's in good form and has played fairly well all year, we can afford to blood a player at this stage. Would give the kid something to work with over the summer. And who knows, if he tears it up he could even keep his spot. He shouldn't ruck though, just play as a forward. With his height I think he's going to be a tough match up.

Always find these stories of arrogance in a first year player dubious. Who (at pick 33) walks into a club featuring the likes of Deledio, Cotchin, Martin and Riewoldt and starts big-noting themselves? Certainly can't pick it from the media he's done thus far. Sounds like he;s a confident bloke and it's rubbed certain introverts the wrong way.
