I've never really understood the negativity around this bloke, you would think he's the first player in the history of the game to play for a free kick, unfairly singled out by morons in the commentary box with mindless footy fans jumping onboard. We have a couple of highly decorated players at our club who could teach Lindsay a thing or two about acting. He's a star and we got him for next to nothing. Get behind him. In our side he's capable of a 50 goal season.

Umm wtf is this crap?

The Footy public has the biggest misconception about him as a person.

I hated his ducking etc as the next person, but he’s genuinely one of the best blokes and clubman competition wide.

You won’t hear a bad word about him at North, id welcome him back as a welfare manager etc in the future in an instant and is an absolute glue guy around the club.

You’re getting a person of the highest caliber.
Referring to his last few reports on field. Sugar coat all you like, they were average incidents. If you point is they are out of character, then good for us.

Yeah you can criticise his ducking and diving but in no way is he a disgrace to the game or the club. Robbie and Wingard play for frees too, but they are just much better than Lindsay :drunk: The way some are carrying on about a now PORT ADELAIDE player is pretty disgraceful in itself. Support your farken players. Lol'd at this one in particular on Twitter:

Carn and get behind the bloke. Looking forward to him proving the haters wrong. Welcome home LT

Reading the opinion of North supporters on Thomas, I don't get why Port people could dislike this pick. Great addition to our squad and to our club.

Just think of it as his career coming full circle.

In the latter years of his career he's coming back to the place where it all started before being drafted to NMFC.

Nah that doesn't help.

I didn't want to lose him.

I'd have had him Captain our VFL side, can't begrudge him going to back SA to be closer to family and play seniors (and he'll play seniors).

To my eyes his career will have come full circle after he retires from playing and returns to Arden St in a coaching capacity.

Biggest benefit of lindsey is that he might actually help our defenders understand what a sneaky crumbing small forward actually does . So maybe just maybe betts doesn't kick a bag against us like always

Yeah but you don't get away with 14 push in the backs a game unless your name is Eddie Betts, even at training.

Probably gotten to the stage of his career in a less performing side he’ll struggle a bit more. I think for where you guys are placed for next year, he’ll be very handy if he gets a run, and for a rookie spot hardly giving anything up.

Honestly wish the bloke had been a one club player.

There are a lot of people who hate or want to hate Lindsay.

I encourage you to embrace him because he's quality.

Those questioning the guys attitude, he was a hugely positive influence on kids that we got into the club. He would host dinners at his house for all our draftees coming in. Mentor them.

He set up out reach for indigenous kids through our community program the huddle.

If North can't win it next year I hope that Lindsay does.

Pretty much all this.

Just wanted to add to what the other North people have already said..

Whatever you think you know about Lindsay, forget it. Totally and utterly misunderstood outside of North. Numerous idiot commentators have picked him as the face of ducking for free kicks when I could name 20+ players in the league who do it more.

But more important than that is that he's just a genuinely great bloke to have at your club. Is absolutely phenomenal with the younger guys and goes out of his way to teach the young small forwards his tricks.

Most recently at North it was Simpkin and although he admitted in his exit interview that he could see from the moment Simpkin walked into the club that he had the talent to eventually take Lindsay's spot, he still took him under his wing. That is exactly the kind of senior player you want to pick up, especially for a rookie pick and for a club with such good small forward talent as yours.

Really nice reading these comments from North supporters.
Shows a great supporter base. :)
Of course I'm sure the Crows are posting similarly nice things on Melbourne and Brisbane boards about their dearly departed Lever and Cameron.

They'll have something to remember young Charlie by, all next year - especially September! :$

He did duck, and I didn't like that he did it, but I was infuriated that Selwood and half the west coast eagles side get a free pass while the media formed a lynch mob against him and even claimed he ducked when he was bending down to pick a ball up off the ground.
