To be fair, it would be hard to be a prominent person in Brisbane and not be connected to either side of politics. I am aware of at least one strong link to the Libs on the current board.

You couldn't have been Less Sharp if you tried.

...and I DO NOT like the boards/pinkster apparent entanglement with the ALP....keep that sort of stuff RIGHT OUT OF OUR CLUB.

Has there ever been an honest politician or large-scale businessman??
MacMum i don't know if you and other supporters in Victoria are aware but Cameron Milner was a former ALP state secretary while Peter Beattie was premier and oversaw the 2001-2004 state elections and is good mates with the DR.
As POBT mentioned it would be hard to be a prominent person without being connected to a side of politics.

No I didn't know that.......they're all crooks in some shape form or another.

Like I said I hate all this sort of stuff......they're all scratching each others back.....or fighting, like whats going on with us atm.

Grrr.

If Angus gets voted out on Nov 13 ... will that affect the Springfield Land Corp's proposed investment in the new training facility?

I mean, I like to assume there's no conflict of interest there at all ...

I'm guessing Sharpless stays no matter what, though?

James the notion of the Springfield move is quite fanciful at the moment, the other day it was announced that the new federal government will not be honouring the $15 million promised by Kev at the last election so that leaves a bit of a budget black hole and to think it was about the only thing that Angus has not used the club website to put his spin on things.

Yeah I note that the Feds have refused to guarantee the funding, but had not heard that they'd ruled it out. I'm not sure what Springfield's investment was going to be in the 60mil total ... but it'd be substantial I'm sure.

Not quite right.

This is correct and contrary to popular assumption that funding is scrapped.:thumbsu:

This is interesting ... the sports minister is quoted by Hammo here, but I haven't seen any announcement to this effect. Is this actually the case now?
I know. I mean there's no way Hammo would misquote someone is there?:p

The only other dedicated quotes I've seen refer to funding not being guaranteed and having to be reconsidered. On the plus side, Dutton is a leader's yes man with no ideas or substance of his own. There is a reasonable chance that Dutton has tried to reiterate what had previously been said and ballsed it up.

Anyway that's the least of our problems I now see you can go and download a form to nominate yourself for the board on the RTLP website.

Where is Henry Pinskier tonight?

He texted me (at least I think it was his number) and told me that I needed to come and offer an answer for all of @Haso's questions on his behalf.

Hell no. I've got a positive agenda for the club to spread through the media ... so my time on here is limited. As I said today, the current Chair "man" has the Lions' website to get his point across, and I've just got Twitter that my granddaughter set up.

Which reminds me, when will Restore The Lions Pride get a website that isn't made by a template system?

I asked H that the other day, but his response was simply that if the template was freely available online (and even if it wasn't), that he should just exploit it for his own purposes.

Yeah don't worry too much about that anymore. Leigh Matthews has stepped up the PR. I saw him make comments about how he's using twitter to combat the Lions site being used as a propaganda tool by Angus.

He is going to win this for Power and Williams single handedly.

Busy sorting through piles of nomination forms
