P.S.
2025 will be Jarrod Berry’s BREAK OUT YEAR! The football media won’t notice, because they are busy glazing players at Melbourne based clubs, but we will. He is already among our best players, but he is set to be ELITE. I’m expecting him to be in amongst our top two or three this year.

Fort was stiff, but good luck to Sam Day. I hope he plays his first game for us and kicks a bag!

Makes sense to not rush Cameron in. It would be great to have him back fit and firing for the Geelong game.

Out: Fort, Lohmann, Starcevich
In..: Day, McLachlan, Reville (likely sub)

And if Cameron is an in then McLachlan comes out or replaces Reville as sub seeing he is probably on standby for Cameron
Channel 10 reported Cameron could not complete training so hopefully they don't risk him against West Coast

In Sunday’s matches, Sam Day will play his first game for premier Brisbane, with Cameron unable to overcome a calf problem that kept him out of last week’s match against Sydney.
- Michael Whiting on AFL website

With Day named in the side, I would expect the bench to be Ah Chee, L Ashcroft, McKenna and Robertson or Reville

Whoever misses out of Reville or Robertson gets a run as Sub.

I think there is more to be gained by putting game time into Reville and Robertson in the event that Starcevich doesn’t get up for the Geelong game, than their is in giving McLachlan a run in the forward line, given that Cameron will most likely come back next week.

I think Dev could play as lock down defender. Also a good chance for WC coaches to see him if he does decides he wants to go back Perth for more opportunity.
Monkey Paw moment, they get both Starc and Robbo and the later becomes a elite lock down defender for them...

I wonder if they had their time over, would West Coast still do that Tim Kelly trade? What an absolute dumpster fire that has turned out to be.

What was it? Two first round & two second rounds picks in return for Kelly & change?

Edit: but yeah, if Starce was to leave he would be worth a third rounder.........

Day to have a blinder and cement himself as not the next Joe, but the next GUNSTON! Seven goals and then goes back and convinces Allen to sign on next year.

Giving Dev a run against the Eagles so he can display his skills to their coaching staff isn’t really a seniors team selection criteria. As much as we’re a caring club, first and foremost is winning and getting our best mix on the field.

As in useless against anyone but West Coast, the old Hawks version where he is a good forward and goal kicker or the standard Lions version where he couldn't kick goals or take marks and was a defensive liability in the opposition's best player listing?

IIRC he got played two three Brownlow vote games before his shoulder went and he looked a million dollars.

He's not a Lester as he hasn't played lots of seconds games but it will be interesting to see how good he will be this year.

When I was listening to the roar deal I was thinking how little McCluggage stood out last year and similarly Berry.

Do they have another level of consistent footy? Are we using them to fulfill their potential? Do they need a change of roles?

Berry you probably lock into the wing and hopefully he becomes one of the top wingers. Unless we have injuries to on ballers.

McCluggage we need to find a way to get him more unpressured footy

Same with Rayner. Still doesn't seem to know how to accumulate. When he goes missing he completely disappears. But maybe this is ok because he'll drag a decent defender with him

Clug had 9 touches in the first quarter of the GF and forced Syd to swap Jordan onto him, freeing Lachie up. Bez one of the best players in the GWS game, Cam obviously kicked the sealer in the prelim. I don't think they can all get 3 brownlow votes every week. Both Clug and Bez were pretty consistently good from when they re-signed last year as well.

I'd love Cam to be more consistent but I think this is just who he is at this point.

Isn't Bez our main tagger, with Dunks, that stops quality opposition mids, i.e. Naicos?

Shouldn’t Clug be more than just consistently good?
