Funny because I’ve always felt we had the cattle to win any game anywhere the past 5 years regardless of our inept coaching panel. We always had a chance.

But this season, even with a full list, I can’t see us winning games like tonight. We’re a legitimate bottom 6 side now.

For how many flags?
Far-KEN none.

And no one has given more for the club in the last ten years than these two.
I hope one day when they look at their empty trophy cabinets they can forgive the person in charge, but I doubt it.

Don't even get me started on Ebert and Westhoff.

Seriously, how is this selection Hinkley looking after his own interests? What part of this selection is him ignoring development of a young player in favour of improving the chance of a win this week?

Surely the selfish selection this weekend would be taking a young ruck that isn't ready and having them ground into dust by Nankervis & Soldo, potentially harming their long term development.
If Ken wants to develop Hayes he needs to play him at AFL level. If Hayes is sick he should come out and say he's sick instead of just having Hayes listed as being omitted. Even playing Ollie Lord or Visentini is better than having no ruck (Finlayson is not a ruck!). Lord or Visenti would have no hesitation in playing AFL and it would be a huge confidence booster for either of those players. They ruck against grown men in the SANFL each week so physically they shouldn't be too far out of their depth. The only ruck I can understand not playing is the new recruit since he's been at the club for 5 minutes and obviously needs time to settle and learn structures etc.

how many times have we seen Hinkley try to outsmart the game with a brilliant (read doing the exact ****ing opposite thing of what is known the actually work) and had it backfire on us?

It’s happened so many times it became a running joke on this board over half a decade ago.

He’s selfish, because he won’t ever admit he’s ****ed up, or doesn’t know what the **** he’s doing. The guy would steer a space shuttle into the sun and as it melts claim the rockets didn’t work hard enough for long enough.

Cool story. But how is any of that Hinkley looking after his own interests ahead of the football clubs?
I don't think playing Lachie Jones instead of Hayes is Hinkley looking after his own interests instead of the club, it's just him being a bad coach.

Continuing to play Motlop and (to a lesser extent) Dumont on the other hand is Hinkley looking after his own interests instead of the club.

“Port have been a great side for the past five or six years now”

“Sam being ill certainly hasn’t helped his cause, but it’s a form call. We’re playing a great footy team that’s in really good form at the moment, and we felt like we needed to make some bold choices and selections and have gone a little bit shorter”

No club in the league plays without a recognised ruckman. It's lunacy. Even the argument based on weather holds no merit. Hayes doesn't take many marks anyway, its not like you can have less than 0. Really if you wanted to go smaller they should of droped Finlayson.

And the past two games Jones has played were shit. More likely to concuss a team mate than take a clean ground ball. Not sure why he is a straight in sort of player without playing a block of sanfl. Why do duursma, Bergman etc need to put in weeks of top sanfl performances but Jones just rolls back in.

I'm still having flashbacks to that goalless half against Melbourne earlier this year :( I want to see Port try and play some attacking footy and take risks going through the middle. We have goalless quarters because there are too many players on eggshells scared of making errors. Easier to take a conservative kick down the line instead of opening it up and risking a turnover.
Which is one of the major reasons why the coach needs to be replaced - I'm confident the new coach will release the hand brake, and just let them play.

Can put a giant strike through Brett's name if he is legitimately going along with this and not just being Hinkley's mouthpiece.

Turn on Fox Footy and see a news report with a quote from Matthew Richardson (Port CEO) saying Hinkley will be around in 2023 no matter the results for the rest of this season, followed by the Fox Footy crew interviewing/joking around with Hinkley calling him a “good bloke” and blowing smoke up his ass as usual.

We’ll never get rid of him.

We dropped Rhys Stanley from the 2019 qualifying final. Scott blamed the weather - it had been raining all day but cleared up before gametime.

Grundy had 47 hitouts, 21 possessions and 7 clearances.

We lost that game...
