We won't keep all of JUH, English and Smith.

Priorities will be JUH and English.

I'd love to keep them all and build around them all but it won't happen. Will lose either Smith or English or both
I strongly believe that we will have all three locked up by mid season

With Bont even taking a reduced salary to.help

What picks do we have left - is the draft tracker right - 45 and 47?

If Lual makes it past those picks (unlikely), I wonder if we'd take 5 picks.
45, 47, 58 & 81.

I suspect we’ll use the first two to try and move up into the top 40, take an unknown with 58 and maybe upgrade a player with the last pick?

If Lual does make 40, would we have the list spots/points to take two picks and then still match? Even taking a small deficit next year

Does the 2nd night start at the same time as the 1st? Not sure why they can’t just do it all on the one night, aside from being idiots for no reason.

I’m actually kind of excited to see what the current team can come up with with a couple of picks in the 40’s. Even in a shallow draft there are always a couple of late picks who seem to make quality players. Even with the “draftable” finishing around 60 - a couple of picks in the 40’s can easily add to our depth quality which we desperately need. Good luck to the team for tonight!

Heaps of quality players left. The talk of this draft being weak is BS. It is just very even past a certain point, heaps of quality to be found still. Confident we can land a player or two that we like. More excited about tonight than I was last night, due to already knowing who we would get.

Hoping we can land Lual, De La Rue and Lorenz/Freijah personally. Other wingers and smalls at both ends still available as well.

I feel that if we hold our original picks then someone ends up bidding on Croft just before our first pick since that's the range he was rated in. So in the end it's Croft and pick 23; fundamentally we traded pick 13 and 23 for Sanders and our future first for Croft. Basically a start of second round pick and a mid first rounder for a top five pick.

Because with the number of bids, trades etc that now extend every other draft pick the entire thing would run past midnight if done on a single evening. 60 picks at 5 minutes each is 5 hours, plus another hour for clubs taking their full 5 minutes to decide to place a bid they were always going to do which restarts the clock again. The AFL seeming to ensure each pick uses the full time allowance doesn't help - eg why do we need 5 minutes for the first draft pick?

The top 10 could realistically be over in about 15 minutes but instead takes about 90 minutes.

Isn't the second round onwards shorter between picks?

Also, is the rookie draft tonight as well, or tomorrow morning?

I hope they're shorter. 5 minutes for the first round is completely unnecessary but the AFL obviously does it for the amazing suspense and spectacle. The entire draft should be 3 minutes per pick in my opinion, which would mean we'd be all done in the time taken to complete the first round last night (2.5 hours).

Rookie draft is 3pm tomorrow, alongside the preseason draft which for some reason still exists.

The Rookie upgrade to Main list happens tonight at the conclusion of the draft, but the Rookie draft itself is Wednesday arvo...
