It would seem to be a 3 horse race for the flag this season with only colac being the only side that'll get near south, joeys or st marys.

Grovedale moved the ball well at times on saturday but like ive said before they lack the experience and muscle to get near the better sides. But i really like where the club is headed and hopefully some success is not to far away.

Maybe they need to recruit better.Torquay twos players are not up to gfl standard.Also how can you say they are heading in the wright direction when they got pumped.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Hello wiseoldman i was starting to get a bit worried that a croc may have taken your hand whilst you were in the top end recently:D:D

I think we both know it's hard to recruit very good players when you have the reputation that grovedale has had. But putting raidme in charge was a wise move i think. The players want to play for him and even tho they've been pumped in a few games, they havn't turned it up like they would in previous years. Plus everyone tipped them to finish last or 2nd last this year so to be 4-5 at the half way point isn't a bad effort.

The colac curse continued for grovedale yesterday being smashed again. I think grovey have only beaten colac once maybe twice since colac joined the competion. But its the way they lose that is the biggest problem. 80 odd points down at 3/4 time before kicking 6 goals to nil in the last 1/4 to make the score look a tad more respectable. I think grovedale are going alot better then everyone thought they would but still there losses this have been masive. 44,46,154,99 and 52. Still alot of work to be done at tiger land.

Same with Holmer as well, cant really include him in GFL team if he has hardly played, even if he has starred in those couple of games.

Should be a good game this wknd up at grovedale. Grovedale and lara seem to be very evenly matched with both sides being very young and trying to get back up the top of the tree. Lara would be pretty confident of winning this game wouldn't they hbk? Have a pretty good record against grovey the last few years.

Havent watched a lot of Lara games this year, but going on their record and the games that i have seen, they shouldnt be too confident of winning ANY game....:D. But with these sort of game, anybody can win depending on who turns up in the right frame of mind. Add to that who has their VFL players available would make a difference. Holmer and Firman make a big difference to Lara.

Good team. Don't thin Talbot would be there though. Just shows how much quality the GFL is blessed with.

Turn it up mate. Wats your basis on them folding? A few years of poor performances? What about there 30 years of dominance prior to 2006?

If your reasoning is on wat ive just mentioned then grovey, west saints and leopold should've folded years ago:eek:

If a player is on say $200 a game. That player gets injured and say misses 6 weeks. Does that player still get paid or do they just miss out on the $1,200. What the general rule on paying players who are injured?

Think you'd find that they wouldn't be paid if their not playing unless they were lucky enough to have it in their contract that their to be paid regardless.

Comes down to what is built into your contract. Most of the top flight of the GFL would have a maximum weeks for injury payments; ie. 6 weeks, etc.

Carson has been good as usual at West but Liam Rock and particularly Adam Morrow just as prevalent. Both have been in the best every game for West in a challenging season. Rock in particualr impressive for a kid stepping up in his first year of GFL footy.

Anakie are terrible in both seniors and reserves, i woud'nt be suprised if they folded in the next 2-3 years. Would struggled against Geelong West

How about you get your facts right before you come on here talking up Inverleigh. Absolutely sick of hearing about them as they will end up dead LAST in 2009

It's a hard task isn't it? So many good players going around. That being said, I thought Morrison has had a terrific year. Although all you have mentioned have all had exception years, especially Wells and Greaves.

Grovedale vs Lara- Toss of the coin job 19pts
Bell Park vs Newtown- Dragons easy 45pts
Leopold vs St Marys- St Marys to run away after half time 36pts
St Albans vs South Barwon- Swans in another % booster 109pts
West Saints vs St Joeys- Joeys to roll on 65pts

North Shore vs Colac- Seagulls to be competetive but colac comfortably 53pts
