I can categorically rule out him coaching anywhere next season in the GFL. Mark this post TF.

Also, as you are in the know at Grovedale, is it true that they have approached Barret/Graham to return? I have also heard Donahue will go to the highest bidder in the GFL or EDFL as Geelong get rid of him.

Your probably right mate but it doesnt hurt to go listen if a club calls and says they wanna talk to you. No doubt grovey have/will talk to them 2 but Barrett changes his mind every 2nd day on where he's gonna play next year so i probably wont know much on that for awhile. Did you mean EDFL or GDFL ? Grovey and Winch would have to be the 2 front runners with Grovey just ahead. They should offer him a very good deal which i think they will as buck will be a very very good GFL player.

Na I did mean the EDFL, that is the cashed up Essendon league. They offer cash to most young players who get delisted from the AFL/VFL.
If he plays at Winchelsea he is doing an injustice to his prodigious talent.

If what you said about him goin to the highest bidder is correct then i cant see him staying in Geelong. If Greenvale,Marby Park,Keilor or Strathmore chase him then no club in Geelong will get his signature. The money them clubs can offer players his ridiculous. He played 1 game for us the year before he got drafted against lara and it was the worst conditions for the year. He kicked 3 goals from outside 50 when everyone else was struggling to kick 30 meters. Will be a brilliant local player and hopefully as you said he doesnt waste his talent and go to Winch.

No chance of him going to Winch. Grovedale will no doubt do everything they can to keep him and i believe are prepared to spend up big...My tip is Grovedale

Grovedale prepared to spend big on buck or on any player in general? They should have a fair bit stored up as they wouldn't have spent much the past 2 seasons.

Well if de-listed Buck would be their main aim and not having spent much in the past two seasons will help them secure him.

Buck will be a massive get and if raidme decides to come back if he's not drafted then thats even better. But the clubs main priorities in recruiting this off season will be a ruckmen/key back/key forward and an experienced skillful midfielder. These types of players dont grow on trees but hopefully we can secure these players and build on this years efforts.

South Barwon have come under a bit of flack for playing Sherman, Knuckey & McCann in the GF....well that's what I deduce anyway. These three guys would be three all-time legends of the club. If they are fit and have done all the work, why wouldn't they play because they are all still clearly in the club's best 22. The concern for other clubs is that the Swans are really starting to churn out the next generation of players. Not too many of those who played in the flag on Saturday would have been part of the 2005 success I would suggest. Happy to stand corrected though. An outstanding club that has built a dynasty through hard work on and off the field. Hats off to them. Their netball results have been just as much, if not more impressive than their football if you can believe that.

The Sherman decision was dicey if they had lost it would have been one of the worst calls of all time.

It was a poor decision regarding sherman regardless of the result. He could hardly walk and didnt get a kick. He knew he wasnt right to play but did anyway just to had to his bulging trophy room. 4 flags and numerous other achievements obviously wasnt enough for him. While a good young kid like jesse mawson misses out on a premiership medal.

Current Geelong player Adam ' buck ' Donahue meeting with Grovedale 2moro nite.

What is your source??

Am i missing something or is Adam still on Geelong's list? why would he meet with clubs if he is still contracted? does he not want to play afl?

I know he's met with grovey already. He obviously thinks he will not get another contract when this current one runs out which is after this season i think you'll find.

I suppose thats fair enough, would of thought he would have waited until he gets told rather then meeting clubs. Must be pretty confident. Who was involved in that meeting? im actually a Grovedale man so i know a few people there.

I guess he's just making sure he finds a club now instead of having to rush it when he gets the bad news from geelong. Im not 100 per cent on who was involved but id imagine raids and the recruiting staff would have had alot to do with it. Buck played at grovey also before he was drafted and has mates there.

bit of mail suggesting that peter davenport is in fact not over the line at st albans...

i had also heard that he had been ringing ppl saying he had the job and wanted them to come on board... anyone know for sure whats going on down there??

Speaking to people that know pete quite well everyone thought the job was all stitched up. Spot on about him ringing people to come on board aswell but take that with a pinch of salt. Told grovey he'd bring all these guns from his home town when he played for us and only one of them clint myer was any good. The other decent player was chris urie but he only played one game and went to red west the next season.

Quick note - Limited edition Drysdale Premiers 09 T-Shirts are availble at Mortimers Petoroleum in Drysdale $10 each!!!

just wondering if the geelong falcons dismall efforts in the tac finals series after only losing 1 game all year has anything to do with a high influx of geelong ammo's and st joeys kids playing there???

I'm surprised you didn't receive instant reactions from supporters of those two clubs.

How many Ammo and Joeys kids played for Falcons in the finals and would they have made a difference to their clubs had they played in their respective Grand Finals?
