See the thread over on the Gold Coast (where it was originally reported he was going) board for further details.

Thread is here

You certainly gave him a big wrap in that thread.

Although sounds like he has some attitude problems going off the article. Not sure what to make of that, will need to knuckle down and work hard trying to adapt to a new sport.

Personally I'm so-so on these Irish experiments but I guess it doesn't hurt to have them on the side.

Yeah honestly I think he's the best 18 year old I have personally seen play. Particularly from the perspective of adapting to AFL, because he has size and great skills with the round ball.

His attitude problems I wouldn't worry too much about. I think they stem as much from him being targeted by opposition players and management, as well as getting little or no protection from referees. He shouldn't be getting involved in stuff like that but he's only 18 and will learn.

On the Irish experiment, I think the most important thing is to recruit the best talents. Stynes, Kennelly, Clarke, Hanley and Walsh were all absolute elite players at underage and senior level (possibly the best players at their age in Ireland) and all either made the transition with success or look like they will. Hanley was very good for Brisbane yesterday. A lot of the other players recruited weren't at the same level and that showed in their AFL play. Although Jamie O'Reilly has shown that even though he wasn't an absolute elite talent (still very good) at gaelic football, he still has potential to make something of himself in the AFL

Sounds very exciting. Any chance it was Matty Knights that helped us out here? The article says Heslin visited Essendon last year.

We are trialling a few boys atm without making any official signings.
Two boys playing in the GFL who have been brought over and set up by the club.

Will be quite interesting watching him develop. It's almost an advantage teaching a kid to play footy at an older age, especially at a professional club as he's being taught by the best in the business how to play the game and thus he has no bad habits ie poor kicking technique etc.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!
YOU BEAT ME TO IT!!

anyone else think its a little bit exaggerated? it makes him seem like a no.1 draft pick

but i do like those skills hes got. hopefully im not gonna get let down.
