Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

why did the finale lack so much of the content from the first 5 seasons?

Did you watch the whole series or finale only.

I missed one in the whole six seasons. Eventually most things were explained through these seasons.

The finale was not about the whole series...IMO, this is why 'Seinfeld' finale was total rubbish.

seen every single episode.

don't get me wrong, i didn't enjoy the finale because "it lacked answers". It definitely didn't lack answers. But it lacked substance of anything to do from the first five seasons.

The first 5 series was about characters developing through their problems/flaws etc whilst living on this island that had special magical properties with a life of it's own.

enter season six..and we have flash sideways to be an alternate timeline..which in the end was brought in to serve no purpose to anything seen in the initial 5 seasons. take out the whole flash sideways footage from the series and you would probably have 8 or so hours where they could have more mind blowing in depth explanations of things.

its like they brought in this whole flash sideways thing to A) take our mind off the mysteries from the first 5 seasons and B) finish with the 'feel good, cheezy' finishing scene, which probably could have been achieved without the sideways timeline.

jacob and MIB was introduced soooo late to the story, it's almost hard to believe they held such importance.
So all these little, exciting and mind blowing events that happened in the first few seasons which got a lot of people hooked, was all due to jacob v mib who were only introduced..on like late season 5? (not sure)

im just sayin it could have been better..
like i said, seems like they introduced the second timeline to take our focus away from the mysteries of the first 5 seasons and to provide the ending..

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

But what mysteries did you want answered?

LOSTpedia has pages and pages of answers that I missed from the thousands who added it to it...the answers were there to most of the series as the series unfolded.

The finale was about character resolution...that made more sense to me than any left over mysteries. That is why the flashbacks from the sideways were so powerful because these characters were the heart of the show, and to me the mysteries were a side issue.

well i was just reading some lost information in regards to the finale on another website then, and i came across this video

http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1936291

plenty of unanswered questions. ill be honest, not all of those i thought of, but still a few major ones. but definitely a few still bug me

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

So im watching Celebrity Apprentice but also flicking to the Lost finale to watch it again and I'm wondering about the alternate universe place.
Desmond tells Jack before he gets roped down to unplug the hole that none of this matters and there's a place where we see our loved ones and you're there...etc.

Did they create it? What do they have to do there?
Like how they are all there at the end, concious of where they are and Ben decides to stay...people say to help Alex. How does he help her? Is he helping her in the alternate universe? Is everyone in that universe place? How can he help her? Make her remember her time on the island? What good does that do?

Would appreciate thoughts.

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Flick back to the last 15 minutes tonight but dont come back bitchin here! HA!

:D

I dont think any of the last 15 minutes answers those questions for me.
They created it but is it just there for them to find their "soulmateS" and come to terms with dying?
Did Ben will stay in the alternative universe to help Alex remember her life? Why were like Kate and Sayid bad people in the alternative universe?
Any help in answering this?

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Didn't know this.

Were other locations considered before Oahu was selected for filming? What were they? Why Hawaii?
The original location scout for the pilot occurred before I joined the show. The producers had decided that Australia was probably the best place for Lost, based on the research they had done. They were headed for Australia with a stopover in Hawaii, but at the last minute they decided to take a look at Hawaii before continuing on. They spent a couple of days on Oahu and found everything they needed. No one ever went to Australia. When it is right, you select the place and get to work. I joined the show the day they returned because I heard it was going to be in Hawaii, a place I fell in love with when I was 13 and learned to surf there.

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

So now that it's all over, which was the best season?

I'd have to say season 5. If they'd ended it after that I would have been satisfied. There was something awesome about them being in the 1970s and becoming Dharma folks. Plus, there was still more than a handful of the main characters alive.

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Not sure about the best season, but the best episode was the first one. That first 10 minutes was amongst the best on TV.

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

All seasons were great in their own way, there wasn't a bad or even average season. Season 1 was probably my favourite, just in terms of the number of awesome episdoes in a 24 ep season.

My favourite batch of episodes has to be the last 5 or 6 episodes of Season 3. Just awesome to watch.
Have to see this season again, but 'The End' will be one of my favourite episodes of all time.

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

read somewhere the plane on the beach was the most expensive scene in tv history

episode 1 is freaking awesome

- final episode season 1, when the light comes on epic
- season 2 ep 1, intro with desmond
- the constant is the greatest for me
- first few eps of season 5 when they are skipping through time is unbelievable as well
- jacob mib scene
- henry gale introduction
- ethan not on the manifest
- michael shooting ana lucia and libby
- hurley and dave
- not pennys boat

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Yeah forgot about season 2 ep 1. That was insane. Within the first 5 minutes I checked several times to make sure I was actually watching Lost :p

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Actually this was the greatest scene/episode:

Re: Lost - season 6 *spoiler*

Just watched it now and before I start going through the forums - how are Kate, Sawyer, Claire etc. meant to have died?
Seems to me Kate and Sawyer can die in the final plane crashing again. Lapidis, Alpert, et al are still in 'limbo' , working toward their own 'church' scene.

One thing that struck me as strange, and i could be mistasken about this: why is Faraday the only one who has a different name at the end? His name is Widmore. What have I missed?
