Well I just watched it tonight (torrent was taking a century - most torrented thing in history apparently - so I got my friend to download it on his much faster internet but then it wouldn't work etc desk was hit but eventually got it
). Not sure how I feel about the how "after death finding each other" thing. A bit dodgy to me. The stuff in the real timeline was good though, if a bit lucklustre in execution (MiB fighting Jack seemed a bit underdone to me?). Liked Jack dying in the spot he woke up in the pilot.
Have to let the episode properly sink in though.

agree with the fight, didnt expect that mib died so easily in the end. but was a good scene when the blood came out of his nose.

The 'light' or the 'heart of the island', was currently out (plug removed), hence I'm assuming all the magical properties of the island including the smoke monster were disabled.

I downloaded it from there, too. It was nothing amazing, though it was cool to see an old character again. Nice little addendum, I guess.

I think they should have put in a sex scene or something to spice things up, maybe involving Kate. I didn't really care much about the pallet-packing stuff. It's so hard to believe that packing those pallets was a full-time job. I mean, how hard were those guys working, really? Were they packing one pallet every week?

I read last season in an interview that it was going to be explained so I was convinced it was 'special' and had a major part to play in the finale.

Would be good to see what the longer interview has to say though there are some aspects here that reveal a hurt to criticism about the finale.
