Tie him inbetween the goalposts, grab the forward group and tell them they have 30minutes to kick as many goals as possible and if they hit Andy it's bonus points.

Punishment like screwing up a drill and being kicked at only you might get smacked in the face by Kosi instead of a stinger. That'd stop him dead!:D

With the grand final in mind, I would consider this a pretty lame punishment.

Good thing it'd be training then, and with them being no more than 25 out, yeah I'd say it's not as lame as you might think.:p

But excuuuuse me for being practical!:p

As Kildonan has stated there's really no need to bring the issue of race into it because it's not relevant.

I don't think any of us are calling for him to be sacked but let's not beat around the bush and make the excuse that it's the off-season and that by staying out late and getting pissed he's only doing something that most of us have done before.

Our club has made a big committment to Andrew, not only by giving up a first round pick but also by offering him a generous 3 year deal.

To do this just days before our club resumes training is very, very disappointing. Especially for a player who has made some mistakes in the past and should be desperate to make a good impression on his new teammates.

I would have thought leaving Essendon was the kick up the pants he needed. Hopefully this latest indiscretion is it and he grows up.

I think it's more that we really haven't had a chance to impact him in any way really as a group since training hadn't started, that one could assume that Andrew assumed it'd be status quo and the only thing changed would be the jumper he put on, it's quite the small "blip" in the radar considering we knew it was to be a risk when he was drafted considering his flavoursome past. I would assume most of us are backing our boys to put him in line, so while not ideal, it'd be far more disappointing if he screws up from this point onwards.

Otherwise I agree, he needs to wake up to the cold reality that his contract could be shredded if he doesn't want to take it seriously.

I just thought he'd have had a burning desire to make a good impression and earn the respect of his teammates.

To do this days before training resumes suggests he just doesn't give a shit and that's really disappointing.

Everyone stuffs up and in the grand scheme of things it's a pretty minor incident but I expected better.

At least we know he's now got no choice but to have a massive pre-season. And if he does that, and earns the respect of his teammates, I can't wait to see him in action. He's just the kind of player this club needed.

You can imagine just where he would be without football. It's hard to feel sorry for him (because of all the chances) but I actually do. Hopefully the penny drops, otherwise it could be far worse than just a sacking for Andrew Lovett.

Yeah, it's nice to get an unbiased view from an Essendon supporter backed up with comments from a jilted ex-coach. Where was the article from boofhead Robinson on the issue when Lovett was at his beloved club?

It is an extremely biased piece:

"In the end, the Bombers had voted for culture over performance and entertained offers. The Saints, willing to opt for performance over behaviour, swooped."

In my opinion this is disgusting journalism, and / or a major dig at our club.

I personally stopped reading as soon as it was entirely apparent the article would degrade, that quote you pulled though is entirely goddamn rich and I'm glad I didn't read the entire thing if that's the case.
